Mildred lay down in her bed, holding her book up to read in the light.

Jack read as amalthea realized where all the unicorns had been. She was always looking at them. They were in the sea, where the red bull kept them king haggard told her he kept them all because the unicorns were the only thing that made him happy.
-
Mildred eventually grew bored of her book. She was at a particularly boring part. She put it down and walked out of her room, careful not to let the moth out.
-
Jack felt upset as he made a realization. King haggard was an old man who forced the unicorns to stay in his kingdom because he was bored of the world. Was Frederick trying to tell him that he was the same as king haggard? Frederick shut the book and opened his door. He set the book in the hallway then he locked his door. -
Mildred looked around, careful not to step on the jar she’d set on the ground. She came up behind a firefly and caught it in her hands. ‘Ha!’
-
Jack walked down the old stairs. They felt colder today. Jack listened to the prisoners shout and paid them no mind. He didn't care.
-
Mildred, eventually, had a jar full of fireflies. She carried it back to her room and set it on the top of the closet.
-
Jack made it to his brother's room and unlocked the door. He sat down Beside his brother's glass coffin and sighed. Alexander breathed in then out
-
Mildred sat down on her bed, unsure of what to do now. She pulled out her book.
-
"I am King haggard aren't I Alexander? I can't believe myself. I don't know how to return the humans though. Would it even be safe?" Jack spoke to the sleeping king.
-
Mildred continued reading for a while. The fireflies in the corner of her room irritated her because they kept moving around, but at least there was some light in the dim room.
