Mildred stirred her spoon through her remaining soup, suddenly not very hungry.
-
Jack took a piece of garlic bread and took a bite. He realized he wasn't very hungry so he drank another cup of milk. He'd started to become hyper aware of his senses.
-
Mildred looked down at her food, lost in thought.
-
Jack looked at the sealed pitcher. He looked into his goblet then at the bowl. Then he looked at the book. He decided that he shouldn't drink the blood today. He was undeniably king haggard, why make himself more guilty?
-
Mildred eventually stood up. ‘I’m not hungry,’ she said. ‘Thank Wilhelm for me.’
-
"have fun." Jack said as he stared into the empty bowl. He should take care of himself and drink the blood but was it truly right for him to live? He wondered about the one thing that was believed to reverse the vampirism process of a human, walking out into the sun.
-
‘You too,’ Mildred said. She looked down before walking out.
-
Jack rang the bell and continued to stare into the bowl. He was never hungry but he ate. He was never tired but he slept. He was always thirsty but his drink was a sin.
-
Mildred sat on her bed and laid down. She held the pillow to her chest, sighing softly.
-
Jack continued to sit at the table even after Wilhelm took the plates away. Wilhelm left the sealed pitcher for Jack, but he only stared at it.
-
Mildred’s eyes fixed to the wall as she pondered things. She kind of wished Jack had never given her the option to go back. Maybe it would’ve made things less confusing.
-
Jack laid his head down on the table and started to think about Mildred. He dragged her away from her home in the middle of the night and trapped her in his castle full of vampires. The more he looked at it the more he could see how unhappy it would make her to stay there.
-
Mildred groaned and rolled onto her back. She looked at the book Jack had given her, which she chucked at the edge of the bed. She picked it up and opened it, figuring she should learn who this King Haggard guy is.
-
Jack then started to think about how it would be if Mildred left. He would be all alone again. Jack was tired of being alone
-
Mildred opened to the first page and began to read it.
