Mildred nodded. 'Alright,' she said.

Jack watched the servants with little interest. He wondered if he should help.

Mildred glanced up at him. 'So, uh..'

"I suppose we should go eat before the kitchen gets too chaotic." Jack said before getting out of his throne.

Mildred nodded. 'Good idea.'

Jack walked to the dining room silently. The events earlier in the day left him feeling tired.

Mildred was silent too. 'Wanna hear a joke?' she eventually asked.

"hmm, a joke? Sure. I like jokes." Jack said. He was ready to be entertained after such an exhausting day.

'What do you call a chicken staring at a pile of lettuce?' Mildred asked, grinning.

"do you call him early for dinner?" Jack said before giggling. He was not one to joke often but he liked hearing them

Mildred laughed. 'Well, no, but close! It's a chicken sees a salad,' she said. 'Get it?'

Jack let out a loud thunderous laugh, like it was the best joke he'd heard in years. He didn't get to hear jokes too often

Mildred grinned widely, laughing along with him. ‘Was it good?’ she asked through giggles, trying to cover her mouth with her hands.

"I've never heard a joke quite like that one, it's even better than the knocking one." Jack said as he grinned. The expression felt strange on his face.

Mildred chuckled, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet. ‘I know! My brother told me that one.’
(Just a quick question - what do you think Jack and Mildred’s relationship should be like? Like should they become lovers, really close friends.. etc.)
