‘Well, that’s nice. Maybe we should go see that some time. It wouldn’t make me cry,’ Mildred said, leaning her head back on Jack’s shoulder.

"yes. The whole musical is about being happy during dark times. The main song in the musical is all about smiling

‘That should be the next one we go see. If anyone performs it here,’ Mildred said.

"it's very popular. They use a lot of jazz. Annie gets a dog. I could go on and on." Jack said. He hardly ever admitted it, because it clashed with his gloomy attitude, but he loved Annie.

Mildred nodded, leaning against his side. The theatre was mostly cleared out by now.

"we also have a few dance operas based on popular fairy tales, though admittedly I'm a lot less fond of them." Jack said. The noticed the theater was quite empty, but he didn't want to disturb Mildred

‘Why’s that? Is the music bad?’ Mildred asked.

"i just find myself disagreeing with the pacing a bit too often. I also admittedly don't like some of the songs. Also one resembles Hamlet and I hate Hamlet." Jack said

‘Oh, fair enough,’ Mildred said, nodding. She looked around. ‘Should we get going now? Unless we won’t get in trouble for staying past the end.’

"we wouldn't get in trouble but we would have to watch the show all over again." Jack said. Normally watching the show again would delight him but sitting through the same show twice didn't sound great to him

'Oh, right. And is that something you want to do..?' Mildred was 90% sure she'd cry again if it played again, and wasn't exactly willing.

"while I wouldn't mind watching the musical again, I would much rather watch it at a later date. My legs are growing numb after sitting here for three hours." Jack said

‘Me too. C’mon, let’s go,’ Mildred sat up straight and stood, jumping a little to get her legs to work again. She offered a hand to Jack.

Jack took Mildred's hand as he stood up. "Now, we could go back to the castle Mildred, or we could go get some street food." Jack said

‘What’s vampire street food like?’ Mildred asked.
