"they finally got reunited. It was perfect. I think I have a new favorite." Jack said, patting away the tears on his face.
-
Mildred sniffled, wiping her eyes. ‘That was a good first musical. Even if a god guy got stabbed. A lot.’
-
"it's not the craziest thing to happen in a musical. There's one where a man murders his entire extended family to win the affections of a girl and is then convicted for a murder he didn't commit." Jack said
-
‘I don’t have the power to deal with another tragedy right now,’ Mildred said, leaning her head on Jack’s shoulder. ‘These things are very unhinged.’
-
"that murder one is actually a comedy believe it or not." Jack said. He was blushing profusely. He nervously scratched his eye patch with his other hand to avoid disturbing Mildred.
-
‘Because murder is such a funny thing,’ Mildred joked. She sniffled, shifting closer for a moment before pulling away and sitting up straight. She wiped her eyes.
-
"well, the person that gets murdered is the same actor every time. The main character is killing for inheritance and he typically kills them in absurd ways, like sending the fakely charitable lady hyacinth to India where an uprising against their people is occuring then to Egypt to treat leprosy patients where a malaria outbreak is happening then finally to Africa to try to civilize a cannibal tribe. In the end she does from falling off of the docks after coming home from Africa." Jack said.
-
‘That’s… wow. Let’s maybe not go and see that dance opera ever,’ Mildred said, smoothing down her hair.
-
"a gentleman's guide to love and murder is a tough pitch to be fair. Oh, I heard they're making one based off of the hit novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelly." Jack said. He was actually very excited for that one. He liked the book.
-
‘Remind me to look for that in the library later.’ Mildred took a deep breath. ‘Gosh, I haven’t felt this sad about a fictional story since I read Of Mice And Men.’
-
"I'm just glad it ended so happily. He got home to Penelope. She made sure he knew she'd never stop loving him as long as he was the same person in his heart. The only heart-wrenching story they forgot was Argos." Jack said
-
‘At least he still has someone. All of his friends died,’ Mildred said.
-
"he lost everyone on his quest to get back to his true love. Greek mythology sometimes just ends it in tragedy anyways, like the story of Orpheus. I think they actually have a dance opera about that one too." Jack said
-
‘Do all dance operas have to be tragic? Is that a law?’ Mildred said, sniffling. She was an ugly crier. ‘It’s a lovely story, but I do hope it’s not real and never happens.’
-
"not all of them are sad. There's this one called Annie that's about a young girl who's adopted into aristocracy after her temporary stay charms the king so much that he decides to help her find her parents. There's also a really strange one called cats" jack said
