Mildred grinned. ‘Dance? I suck at dancing, but I can try.’ She took his hand.

"I don't mind." Jack said. He started to waltz with Mildred as he hummed a song. The townspeople seemed to stop as they heard the humming as they turned to the source.

Mildred laughed, looking down at their feet to try and copy his movements and not step on his shoes.

Jack followed a pattern. Left step, step forward, glide right, step back, twirl.

Mildred eventually got a hang of it and looked up at Jack, grinning.

Jack smiled as they twirled and the song he hummed started to pick up.

Mildred looked back down at their feet, following the pattern. She didn’t really care they were doing it in the street in front of all these people, since she didn’t know any of them and they probably thought bad about her as a human anyway.

Jack laughed happily before a flute started playing to accompany their dance. Then a harp joined, and a piano played from a balcony above.

Mildred giggled, looking back up at Jack.

Jack couldn't take his eyes off of Mildred. She looked even lovelier dancing. A few people joined them in their dancing but jack hardly noticed them

Mildred grinned, looking up at him as they continued to waltz together.

Jack got caught up in the moment and, to the shock of the crowd, picked up Mildred and just kept twirling as he laughed in joy. Like a movie scene

Mildred squealed in surprise as she got picked up, but it quickly dissolved into laughter as she clung to Jack.

The song ended with both Jack and Mildred laughing. The people, unexpectedly, started cheering. Jack gently set Mildred down. Once he stopped giggling he spoke "I apologize for picking you up without asking. I got caught up in the moment."

Mildred giggled, letting go of him slightly. ‘It’s okay, it was fun,’ she said, beaming.
