"I'd call that a major issue but I get your point." Jack said. Jack thought dying to the sun sounded awful as it was a high speed version of being burned alive.

"yep. I'd rather not imagine the sun flash. That would be a whole royal family downed by natural phenomena." Jack said

‘Yeah,’ Mildred said, picking at the skin on her hand, then figuring if she picked too much and bled out it wouldn’t end well, so she put one of her hands behind her back to stop herself from fidgeting.

"y'know, we actually have a device to help with that skin problem. It's called a double ring. It's a ring with a smaller ring on top of it that seamless spins." Jack said

‘To stop the fidgeting?’ Mildred asked, picking at a thread on her dress instead. ‘That’s pretty smart.’

"yes. It's not an original design by us but some scouts found one during our panning operations and we made a few of them some even come with little rhinestones

‘That’s cool,’ Mildred said. She sat back down on the chair she had pulled over.

"working with others inventions can truly better our society, I really wish the rulers of your towns weren't so primitive." Jack said.

'Me too,' Mildred said, crossing her legs. 'But how do you stop the rulers here letting the power go to their heads? I mean, you can pretty much do anything as king, what stops you from being selfish?'

"I do what I do because I care. I would never do anything against them. If we needed any more assurance if 50 percent or more of the town disapproves of a king they can usurp the throne without pushback" jack said

‘That’s… wow. Fair enough, but do you never not think so high of yourself that you do something selfish because nobody’s stopping you?’ Mildred asked, a little confused.

"well, the most selfish thing I've done is invite humans into my kingdom and refuse to drink blood." Jack said.

‘But I thought everyone turned bad eventually,’ Mildred said.

"I don't believe that. Either way I'm no pinnacle of morals. I've executed people." Jack said.
