"I wish I knew what they were doing. I tried to ask but they got so defensive." Florence said. "You shouldn't even be here! Just go to bed!" He mimicked like a recording
-
‘They were probably just sad,’ Collins said softly. ‘Grief does strange things to people.’
-
"stop it!" Florence shouted defensively. It didn't like the idea that it's creator might be gone. It would never accept it without tangible proof. It mimicked a chicken hawk
-
Collins winced. ‘Sorry,’ she mumbled, looking away.
-
"I don't like thinking about that" Florence said. He then stood up.
-
‘I know. Sorry,’ Collins said again. She didn’t stand up at well, instead fiddled with her hands.
-
Florence started pacing, but instead of having any arm on the ground he was standing at full height. His steps seemed much more clumsy and cartoonish this way.
-
Collins watched him for a moment. ‘Are you OK?’ she asked.
-
"I'm fine." Florence said as it continued it's pacing. It started to mimick a shrill bird call
-
‘You don’t seem fine,’ Collins said worriedly. ‘Are you sure?’
-
"I don't know." Florence said. He mimicked a thousand chirping crickets.
-
‘Would you like to talk about something else?’ Collins offered.
-
"yeah, yeah, yeah." Florence said. He had a three second pause between each word
-
Collins nodded. ‘Alright.’ She rummaged around in her satchel for a distraction. ‘Do you know how to play cards, Florence?’
-
"I've only ever eaten cards before." Florence said Before setting down two of his arms for support
