"don't you have friends?" Florence asked. He cocked his head and mimicked a crowded hallway. He meant nothing by the question other than his curiosity

Collins cheeks turned a light shade of pink. ‘I, er.. not really, no…’ she mumbled sheepishly.

"why not? You're so cool!" Florence exclaimed happily. He mimicked the song of an ice cream truck.

Collins grinned. ‘Thanks,’ she said, smiling shyly. ‘I would have more friends, I guess, if I wasn’t homeschooled,’ she said. ‘And if I left the house more, I suppose.’

"Schools are for learning stuff like math and reading, I can't say much about that though because I'm homeschooled according to the creator." Florence said. He mimicked an a.i. reading the alphabet.

‘It’s supposed to suck, according to YouTube,’ Collins said with a weak laugh. ‘But there are friends and annoying classmates and strict teachers. I wish I could go.’

"what's YouTube?" Florence asked. His ears perked up and he mimicked a crow.

Collins thought, thinking how to explain it. ‘This website where you can watch videos,’ she said, figuring it wasn’t much more complicated than that.

"what kind of videos? Is it experiment logs, or movies?" Florence asked. He mimicked the sound old cameras would make when they were recording.

‘Not quite those. People make their own videos and upload them,’ Collins said. ‘

"what do they make videos about? Ooo! Do they have any about the maintaining of aquatic life forms?" Florence asked excitedly raising both of his left hands.

Collins blinked. ‘I don’t know. There’s a lot of bizarre stuff on there. It probably does,’ she said with a shrug. ‘There are videos about all kinds of things. Probably everything you can think of.’

"I've always wanted to keep an aquatic life form, they're so colorful." Florence said mimicking the sound of a water filter

‘You mean a fish?’ Collin’s asked. ‘I mean, I guess some of them are.’ She pulled out her phone. She didn’t use it much, especially since her parents tracked what she did, but it was helpful sometimes. She Googled the word ‘fish’. ‘Have you seen a fish in real life before?’

"Yes! Fish!" Florence shouted excitedly "we used to have some very colorful fish in the recreation room. I remember the junior researcher pam used to take care of them." Florence prattled on. He mimicking the water filter from the tank
