Florence watched and waited as the sun came up.

Collins returned to the hospital an hour after sunrise, carrying her satchel and a plastic grocery bag.

Florence saw Collins and jumped for joy. He mimicked the crowing of a rooster

Collins speed walked towards him. ‘Hey.’

"welcome back Collins." Florence said happily. He flapped his wings again

‘Thanks.’ Collins reached into the grocery bag and tossed an apple to Florence. ‘I think you said you liked fruit.’

Florence caught the apple and took a huge bite. "I loooooove fruit!" Florence said cheerfully

Collins smiled. ‘I’ll bring more tomorrow, then. Do you know where Moses is?’

"he should be inside. Moses likes to sleep in the old observing room." Florence said

‘Well, I got him candy as a peace offering,’ Collins said. ‘And an extra bag in case the others want some.’

"candy? Ooo what kind?" Florence asked. He mimicked the candy crush voice saying delicious

‘A party mix. Gummies and stuff,’ Collins said.

"ooooo" Florence exclaimed. Small red eyes slowly popped up in the hospital windows

Collins smiled. ‘C’mon, let’s go find him.’

Florence hopped up and walked bouncily beside Collins
