"the car looked like the police." Florence said. He mimicked a loud slide whistle. Slowly, smaller creatures squeezed through the door
-
‘Oh. Right.’ Collins couldn’t see the creatures, since the boxes were blocking her view. ‘Well, it’s gone now, so we should be okay. How do you think we should hand these out?’
-
"well, we set out the pizzas and everyone can have two slices. I'll call the rest of them out, but you have to stand back." Florence said, taking half of the pizza boxes with all four of his arms. Suddenly, Riley squeezed out of the building. Her grey wrinkled skin seemed to stretch even worse.
-
‘Alrighty.’ Collins glanced over at Riley. ‘Oh good lord.’
-
"what are...... You doing." Riley said as it stepped forward. Every minute it looked more grotesque, like it jumped out of a nightmare. "It's food, for everyone. Collins bought it for us." Florence said, taking a hesitant step forward. He mimicked a dog whistle.
-
Collins looked Riley up and down, fighting the urge to throw something at it and run away. ‘I mean, not my credit card, but thanks for the credit,’ she said.
-
"hmm... A truce..... I will speak with Jan..... You are just..... Human.... Terrible." Riley said before shambling back into the building. A group of three children walked out. Their hands were sewn together. One had no eyes, one had no mouth and the last had no ears. "It's okay. I think that's good! She didn't attack." Florence said. He mimicked a magpie call.
-
‘That’s always a good thing,’ Collins nodded. Her eyes fell on the children, her first reaction being repulsed, then feeling bad for being repulsed. She set the pizza boxes down.
-
The wooden child charged forward, then a stranger creature. It had a normal body, for the most part, except it's chest. The creature had a clear chest, and if one looked hard enough you'd see them, small spikes. The face though was stranger still. The skin was peeling, below was a strange grey substance that oozed. It's eyes were large and lacked depth. It turned to Collins and spoke. "You're weird. Maybe they'll let you stay." It said. Florence clapped one set of his hands.
-
Collins had the urge to say something along the lines of “how am I the weird one you literally look like THAT” but refrained as one, that wouldn’t be a very nice thing to say, and two, the creature’s appearance wasn’t exactly welcoming. ‘Uh, thanks. Who will let me stay, exactly?’
-
"the others. Florence's acception doesn't mean much. He likes everyone. On to the meat and potatoes though, why'd you come here?" The creature asked before taking a slice of pizza. Florence mimicked a crooked bell.
-
‘Well, I was just kinda walking around and found the hospital, then Florence, and whoopdeedoo,’ Collins said, shrugging.
-
"hmm... That's hard to believe. How did you meet Florence?" The creature said. It sat on the floor and started eating the pizza. "It was crazy!" Florence shouted excitedly and flapped his wings.
-
‘I touched his music box and he was like “oh hell no” and found me,’ Collins said.
-
"hmmm, the music box... I can cut you a deal human. Give me the heart and I can get jen to let you in." The creature said. Just then, a terrifying sound rung out. It was a symphony of pain. Every foul tone you could imagine played in a orchestra of screams. Broken plates, nails on chalkboards and scraping metal was the least of the nauseating noises. It all came from one very angry Florence. He dropped the pizza boxes in order to clutch his box closer to him than ever before.
