(Agreed)
His warm breath was fanning over her ear, causing an almost ticklish feeling. Smirking deviously, Jacob swiftly moved away from Tessa, satisfied with her answer. He picked up his knife and fork and delicately slices a piece of ham in half, and then quarters before stabbing it with his fork and putting it into his mouth. He dabbed at the corners of his lips with a napkin.
(Ohoho, I just had a devious idea) -
(What is it?)
Tessa remained frozen for a moment, not letting her eyes wander anywhere beyond her plate. What was that? She resisted the urge to rub her ear to get rid of the tingling feeling or the one to bring her cool hands to her burning cheeks.
Finally she took a deep breath, got her bearings together, and kept eating until her food was finished. -
(Hohoho)
(OHOHOHOHOHOOOOOOO)
(I’m gonna feel like Santa Claus delivering presents)
Jacob, who was eyeing Tessa the whole time, noticed a bit of food on the corners of her mouth. He snapped his fingers, quickly summoning one of maids who was waiting to be beckoned over for orders, and asked for another napkin. Once it was delivered, he turned to Tessa.
“Oi, look at me.” He demanded, gently grabbing her chin and forcing her to look at him. He leaned in close to her face, almost an inch away, and took the clean napkin to brush away small specks of food that had carefully hidden themselves on her upper lip. -
(Yeah, that made me feel like Santa delivering a present)

(June his little sister is RiGhT tHeRe)
Tessa's eyes widened so far they resembled small plates. What was he doing?!
She took the napkin from his hand, gave her mouth a final swift yet rough swipe to make sure he wouldn't try to continue doing that.
She stood from her chair. "E-excuse me," she murmured before quickly walking out the room. -
(s--- I FORGOT SHE EXISTS)
Jacob turned to a maid, confused.
“She did have something on her lip, right? I wasn’t blind?”
“Yes, Sir Jacob.” The maid curtsied. “She had some crumbs on her mouth.”
“I don’t see the reason she got so flustered then.” Jacob mumbled. He propped his chin up with his hand, an elbow on the table as he watched her get farther and farther away.
Verona, who had been in her own little world the whole breakfast so she hadn’t noticed or heard anything, finished her plate of food.
“Maybe she didn’t want you treating her like she’s a little girl! She’s practically a grown up.” Verona exclaimed brightly, having picked up that Jacob was trying to help Tessa with her food.
“Perhaps,” Jacob whispered. “Perhaps.” -
Tessa made her way back to her room. Jacob's actions actions were giving her strange feelings in her stomach that she didn't recognize nor did she understand. So instead of trying to figure them out she avoided them and thought about why Jacob shouldn't have done that. For one, they had only known each other a day and she was only staying for a week. That was not enough time to get so well...acquainted with someone to do those things! He should have told her she had food on her face, and there was no reason to whisper in her ear WITH HIS MOUTH DIRECTLY ON HER EAR about how the food tasted. He was being highly inappropriate.
-
“Besides, what did you do anyway that got her so worked up? You did just try to wipe her mouth, right?” Verona prodded, trying to squeeze out every ounce of information she could.
“Nothing.” Jacob quickly replied. -
Tessa smiled at one of the servants who brought back Sandy from having her breakfast. As she pet her blonde dog, she decided that if he didn't do anything further, she wouldn't day anything about it, but if he did, she was going to get after him for it.
Getting up, she walked out of her room and asked a servant for directions to where the seamstresses would be. Once she arrived, they took her measurements quickly and efficiently. She gave them her preference for clothing. It involved lots of cardigans and long-sleeved shirts and pants or capris. Not that she liked being roasting hot, of course, but she would prefer to wear that type of clothing.
She was out if there as soon as she came in. Not knowing what to do, she decided to go to the library again like she had the day before. -
In the library, Jacob was silently running his fingers over each book, not sure which one to pick. Finally, he settled for one in the horror genre.
He sat down on one of the spare couches, a leg crossed over his other one and his nose buried deep in the interesting book. -
Tessa looked through the books and finally found one that caught her interest, Robin Hood. She took the red book off the shelf and went over to one of the couches.
She stopped abruptly when she saw Jacob sitting there as well. "Oh, Jacob, I didn't realize you'd be in here," she said. -
Jacob, who hadn’t noticed Tessa’s presence in the room until now, snapped his book shut, a small trace of shock visible on his face. He quickly composed himself and coughed into his fist before gazing up at her with a raised eyebrow.
“Hey, Tessa.” He muttered. His eyes trailed over to the book she was carrying. Ah, Robin Hood. He remembered reading that. It used to be his favorite book to read when he was younger. He would read it countless times, over and over until his eyes would become strained from all that reading. The merry tales were just too wonderful to let go. It became an annual thing. Once a year, he would pick up that joyous book and read it for fun. It was marvelous.
“Have you read Robin Hood before?” -
Tessa held back a small laugh at Jacob's surprise. She shook her head. "No. I've heard of it, though, and I kind if know the gist of the story. It sounds really interesting. Have you read it?"
-
Jacob scoffed, his face full of pride. He smirked at Tessa. “Only a thousand times, but approximately, over 70. I highly recommend it. It’s such a thrilling tale.”
-
"Good thing I was planning on reading it, then," she said. She went over to the couch Jacob was on and sat down next to him. "What are you reading?" she asked him.
