"In that case, it would be best to cut it up along with your eggs and ham and put it together. Despite the time it takes to slice everything up into the desired shape, it tasted quite nice." Jacob put a hand on his chest. "I've eaten it that way myself. It's like a tradition."
-
Tessa laughed a little, looking up at him. "You really don't seem the type to have traditions like that."
-
Jacob shrugged his shoulders and gave Tessa a small smile. "I really like the flavor."
-
"It's kind of like those breakfast sandwiches you see on ads," Tessa said as they entered the dining room.
-
Jacob shook his head. “No, it isn’t. It’s like a gourmet pancake.”
Veronica nodded her head. “You gotta taste it to believe it!” -
Tessa wasn't going to argue that it was essentially the same thing, so she simply sat down where the food was. She started dishing food onto her plate.
-
There were bucketloads of food plastered all over the table. There was two different kinds of bacon. Soft and fatty. Four different mixes of pancakes all in stacks. Blueberry, strawberry, chocolate chip, and regular pancakes. There was a jug full of various drinks such as water and milk with a maid standing at the edge of the table ready to refill the drink if needed.
Scrambled, boiled, and fried eggs lay on a metal platter, awaiting to be taken followed by waffles, toast, ham, and a pecan pie. -
(The soft ones are usually the fatty ones?)
Tessa's mouth fell open. "How do you guys possibly manage to eat all this?" she asked. -
(Those ones are chewy and juicy and blehghh)
(Now the turkey ones are delicious. It’s soft, not chewy, still somewhat juicy but not overwhelmingly so, and waaaay better than the fatty bacon imo)
“The leftovers are given to the staff.” Jacob explained as he piled chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs onto his plate. He placed a napkin in his lap for in case food fell onto his expensive clothes. Not that it ever did. -
(The perfect consistency is when it's crispy but not to the point to where I can't bend it)
(Turkey ones are disgusting, give me the pork ones any day.)
Tessa nodded in understanding. She took some pancakes off a random plate as well as some bacon and scrambled eggs. She looked at his Jacob had his napkin and copied him, then took a bite out of her pancakes. Her eyes popped at the flavor that filled her mouth, so different from the oatmeal she had every morning.
(I see you remember my etiquette lessons XD) -
(Exactly!)
(Why don’t you like the turkey ones? :0)
Despite the long stare Jacob kept on his food, his bright brown orbs sneakily glanced every now and then at Tessa’s reactions to the professionally made breakfast. It filled Jacob with pride to know that his family was one of the only ones to have experienced chefs on the job. It made the food taste better knowing it was made with care.
Following his normal, yet seemingly childish tradition, Jacob slit each pancake into small pieces along with his ham and eggs and put the three foods together. He couldn’t help but stare back at Tessa to see if she would do it as well. -
(GAH- I forgot to reply :,))
(Indeed I did 👀👀)
(Also you know those fancy cloths you get at restaurants that usually hold the silverware?)
(I had absolutely no idea that they were napkins and I was too scared to use them when I figured out what they actually were because using something like this is intimidating for some reason and I don’t know why T_T) -
(You – never figured out they were napkins?)
(Also I usually prefer the flavor of pork to turkey)
Tessa glanced at Jacob when she saw rapid movements out of the corner of her eye. It was him cutting his food into multiple little pieces. She suddenly remembered his concoction he had told her about. She decided to try it. She didn't slice all her foot into itty bitty pieces, but she cut off a bit of egg, a bit of ham, and a bit of pancake, and stuck it in her mouth. It did taste good. She felt like Jacob had been over exaggerating a little, though he wasn't the type of person to exaggerate. But for his sake, she took another bite with the same combination. -
(Nope. Instead of white, the napkins are usually green or red cloths that are really fancy looking and feeling. I hate using those ones because it always feels like I’m wiping food on someone’s dress :,))
(Oo nice)
(What are your opinions on the taste of ham? 👀👀)
Jacob let loose a small smile. He leaned in close to Tessa, pressing his mouth against her ear, using a hand to block any of his words from reaching the ears of the other inhabitants of the table.
“Does it taste good?” He whispered. -
(The taste is pretty good but sometimes the consistency is a bit dry)
For some reason that Tessa didn't know, her face suddenly felt burning hot at Jacob's very close proximity.
"It– It is pretty good," she mumbled.
