Warming my heart

"There's more to measurements than just height," Tessa muttered. She let out a sigh. "Nevermind. Let's just go on?"
-
"Well fine then, you can sleep in those filthy rags tonight.” Jacob raised a disgusted eyebrow at her clothing. Yes, rags were not far from the truth. This girl had absolutely no fashion sense whatsoever.
-
Tessa let out another small sigh. Eventually they reached her room. "Good night," she murmured before shutting her bedroom door. As she fell asleep one thought poked her mind. Tomorrow it would be six more days.
-
(Are we setting her orphanage on fire or something to make her stay longer?)
Jacob himself went to his own respective room that was a hallway and a right turn away from Tessas'. As he laid in bed, he went over the things that had gone on that day. A warm smile tugged the corners of his cold lips upwards. It had been a marvelous day. -
(They're across the hall from each other.)
(Also we decided that the secretary had seen Tessa make such a change in Jacob that she wanted her to stay, but Mr. Ryder refused. So she adopted her because since she lived in the same house Tessa would too. But Tessa is at the orphanage for at least a few days. Jacob sneaks out of the house late at night to see Tessa and then in the middle of them talking Miss Javelin comes in and does something and Tessa protects one of the kids and Jacob sees the whole thing but doesn't do anything then when Miss Javenin's gone she comes back out and Jacob's all worried about her.)
Morning came and Tessa was famished. She may have had a lot of ice cream the night before, but that was basically just sugar. She hadn't really had supper that night and before then she had been on punishment from Miss Javelin, not allowing her to eat for multiple meals in a row.
She went into the bathroom connected to her room. She was baffled by its size and cleanliness. Her shower felt lo luxurious, like nothing she'd ever felt before.
Stepping out, she changed into her only other set of clothing. She figured she'd have her fitting right after breakfast or something like that. -
(That’s- absolutely beautiful :,3)
(I love it! :D)
Jacob and Verona had just come out of their rooms after a short night full of sweet dreams. Verona was wearing an outfit similar to the one she wore a day prior. She was dressed in a lime-green dress and worse yellow overalls with it.
Jacob was dressed in casual clothes. A gray hoodie with some skinny jeans. Nothing out of the ordinary.
“I had the most wonderful dream last night!” Verona chirped the second she laid her eyes on her brother. “I was soaring through the sky on the back of a unicorn. It was so much of fun!”
Jacob snorted in amusement and narrowed his gaze. “You’re such a kid.” -
(How do you wear a dress with overalls? Do you mean kind of like a pinafore?)
Tessa heard Jacob and Verona outside. She walked towards the door, mentally preparing herself for Jacob's harsh cold demeanor. She turned the knob and opened the white wooden door. "Good morning," she said with a small smile. -
(OH- YES THAT :D)
“Goooood morning!” Verona said in a sing-song voice, prancing right up to Tessa. She tilted her head slightly and smiled brightly at her. “Did you sleep well? Were there any unicorns in your dreams?”
Jacob raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms. "What a childish way to wish our guest good morning.” Jacob scoffed. His expression softened as his eyes settled on Tessa. "But good morning, Tessa.” -
Tessa was a little surprised at his lack of aggression, but didn't say anything about it. "How did you two sleep?" she asked.
-
Jacob shrugged his shoulders carelessly. "I slept normally, I guess. It felt like sleep.”
"Well,” Verona placed her hands on her hips and heaved a breath of air out of her lips. She smiled brightly. "I rested wonderfully! I had this wonderful dream where I was riding a unicorn and saving a prince from a tower.” -
Tessa couldn't help but chuckle at Verona's twist on the classic fairy tale. "We should go down for breakfast probably."
-
(Poor Maximus)
Jacob nodded and started on his way down the hall. Verona instead tugged at Tessa's sleeve and stared up at her with wide puppy dog eyes and a slightly quivered lip. Her hands were clasp together as if she were desperately pleading for something.
"Could we have a tea party after breakfast, puh-leasssseeeee!” Verona begged. -
Tessa looked in confusion. "A tea party?" she asked. She shook her head. She wasn't sure what that was, but still. "I'm not in any sort of position to give you permission for anything."
-
"No, I meant together!” Verona chirped.
-
"Either way," Tessa said, "I don't have any sort of say in that."
