Warming my heart

(Oh-)
(I had a feeling they did but then I was like, “but what if they didn’t.” :,))
Jacob turned around and sighed.
"All right, follow me.” He mumbled. -
Tessa took a few quick steps to catch up with him. She had been afraid he'd just go off to wherever he was planning and leave her to wander the mansion for the rest of the night.
As they were walking Mr. Ryder's secretary rushed up to the two of them.
"There you are, Tessa," she said. Suddenly she noticed Jacob there. "Oh, you're with Jacob," she said. "And he's not biting your head off."
Tessa frowned. "Uh, no, he's not. What did you need?"
"Oh right. Tomorrow we'll need to take your measurements to make some clothes for you."
Tessa was suddenly very conscious that she was still in the tattered worn clothing given to her by Miss Javelin. She nodded. "I appreciate that," she said with a smile. -
"What's that supposed to mean?” Jacob snapped at the secretary. "And you’re just now taking measurements? Do you expect a guest to sleep in rags during their stay in this house? Have you even prepared a simple nightgown for her to wear to bed?”
-
Tessa blinked in surprise. "Jacob it's fine," she said. She waved the secretary off, signaling that she could go. "They're certainly not magic. I was surprised that they're even making me clothes rather than just buying them from the store when I'm only staying for a week."
-
"Professional seamstresses that get paid for a reason. If they aren’t doing their job, then they aren’t worth my father's time.”
-
"Even so, I'm only staying for a week. I'm hardly anything to be making personally fitted clothes for, Tessa said. She let out a soft chuckle. "You forget, I'm used to sleeping in "rags," as you put it."
-
Jacob sharply exhaled a haughty breath as he glowered at Tessa. "Even so, if you are to stay at the Ryder household then it is expected for everything to be prepared ahead of time. We knew you were coming, yet clothes have not been prepared despite this.”
-
"They didn't know my measurements," Tessa replied. "It would be kind of creepy if they did."
-
"Considering we have all of your information in a file locked away in one of the private offices, it should have been given to the seamstresses by now.” Jacob said.
-
"Jacob, I don't even know my own measurements!" Tessa said. She knew her bra size and an estimation of her clothing size, and that was about it. "I'm pretty sure Miss Javelin doesn't either, I mean, look at me." Tessa gestures down to her too-big clothes. "I really think you should let this go."
-
"Does your poor commoner brain even begin to realize how badly this could reflect upon my father?” Jacob snapped, jutting a finger at Tessa. “Unlike your small orphanage, us rich folk have images to keep up. We can’t have our experts not have any clothes prepared for a guest!”
-
Tessa rolled her eyes. "Who would even know about it? How many people even know I'm here?" she asked. "How many people saw us out at 9 pm besides the ice cream guy? How many people would even recognize you if you weren't surrounded by cameras?"
-
“As I told you before, your information was handed out to the servants. The chefs were given your known allergies, the seamstresses were given your measurements, and so forth.”
-
"You never answered my question, though," Tessa said. "How would they know my measurements if I myself don't even know them?"
-
"I did answer this. My father would've given your information about your height to the seamstresses!”
