Dorvakin kissed Elbereth's forehead and said "Don't worry, my love. If worse comes to worse, I will protect you."

''B-But you can't protect my people Dorvakin, they'll die, and yours will live, my mother and father will be greatly damaged by this. T-They'll begin a war they cannot win,'' Elbereth said, her brows furrowed in depression and fear, her lips curved into a frown as she gaze into his eyes.

Dorvakin said "I know. This is a tough situation. Maybe I could convince him not to use the weapon, but all I can do is delay him."

''Delaying him won't stop the inevitable,'' Elbereth mumbled, her voice low. ''When is the attack, can you please tell me that?'' She questioned, desperate for answers

Dorvakin sighed "I can't. All he showed us was a prototype and said we were all getting one. The good news is that, the project could take months to complete."

''Months, okay, that gives my people time to prepare,'' Elbereth mumbled, ''God, help us,'' She whispered, her eyes fluttering to the sky.

Dorvakin hugged Elbereth from behind.

Elbereth lifted her hands up, her hands resting on his arms that held her close. She felt comforted and secured in his arms as she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to relax her shaken nerves.

Dorvakin held her close and closed his eyes. He slowly rocked from side to side.

Elbereth took a deep sigh, the Drow calming her nerves as the two held in one another's arms.

Dorvakin came closer to Elbereth's ear and whispered "I love you."

''I love you too,'' Elbereth mumbled, her eyes closed as she reflected on their forbidden relationship.

Dorvakin was about to kiss her when he heard the knob of her door jiggling.
