Matty giggled softly, "About what?" he asked, he blushed slightly looking down as his cheek was kissed, "Thanks, hon." He said softly. He patted his pockets and grabbed his phone off the side table and put it in his pocket, "It makes the most sense." He said, "We should walk on the beach later."he said quietly
Matty loved walking around, sure their were lost of tourists around but it didn't really matter, not to him at least. The warm air made it nice to walk around, he really liked Florida it was a lot nicer down here than it was in New York this time of year.
He giggled as he was tugged away, he laced their fingers together as he walked. He squeezed his hand slightly and hugged his arm with his other arm. He looked up at him carefully and loosened his grip in his arm. He rested his head lightly on his shoulder, he giggled quietly. -
"How I look, of course!" He chuckled quietly. "Yes, we should walk on the beach later~. It'll be nice and dark, free of people. I might even go for a swim. Who needs a swimsuit, anyways?" Andie had always been really confident about his body, especially during his teenage years. As he got taller and thinner, he became more and more confident. His sexuality always was something he hid, though, and lied to himself about. 'I like girls. I like girls.' He'd tell himself. And he did. Andie could never explain the pull he felt towards guys, though. And, as an adult, he found and seemed refuge in bisexuality.
He had never been happier.
Andie shook those memories off. Ah, the teenage years. How awkward. He glanced over to Matty, shooting him a big smile as they walked out of their house. A cold gust of air hit them, as it was a lovely, breezy night. This was his favorite weather. Humid and breezy. -
Matty chuckled quietly, he nodded slightly, "Yeah, it'll be nice. Just don't gat a cold or something." He said chuckling, he had no problem swimming in the ocean but he did when it was pitch black outside and they were alone. It's not like he was afraid of sharks or something, quite the opposite actually he thought they were cool,he also knew that they were smart enough to know that humans weren't appealing as food and quite boney. He remembered that once in high school a few kids were trying to tell him that if he swam in the ocean sharks would eat him, he knew it want true but it helped that they were idiots but in return he told them that he was to boney and they'd eat the people with more meat and made a comment back on the football players in front of him. They beat the crap out of him for it but it was worth it, kind of.
Matty smiled up at him. He slowly put the hand that wasn't holding Andies in his pocket. He smiled slightly at the breez. Looked back ahead of him and tucked a some hair behind his ear and out his hand back in his pocket. -
"Oh come on, the ocean this time of year is pretty warm." Andie told him with a shrug. Then again, to Andie, it was always quite warm. He held the boy's hand as they turned a corner to get into the main road. This street was full of people, both tourists and residents, walking and talking. As it was a Friday night, everyone was chattering happily and were likely to drink a bit too much. This was a routine for the area. In fact, it was often routine for he and his friends.
Although none of them were quite legal yet, they all found ways to bend ruled. There was always a loophole in the law, Andie had found. Not that he was a major felon or anything, he thought to drinking age was quite obnoxious. It wasn't his fault America didn't teach children to drink responsibly, like many other countries did.
Andie was immediately quite self conscious as they passed people on the streets. Although the locals didn't care much about homosexuality, in fact, a lot of them were LGBT, you could never predict how the tourists may react. Regardless, they could do nothing about it. They didn't own the restaurants, the bars, the streets. But soletimes they could get violent. -
Sorry it took so long.))
Matty chuckled, "The oceans usually nice." He said quietly, "I'll watch you to make sure you don't drown but I don't really want to go in." He smiled slightly and looked around slightly at the people at the streets and the people on them. He walked slowly with one of his hands in his pocket, he hummed quietly.
Although he wasn't legal, he'd been drinking in bars and clubs and stuff for quiet a while, ever since grade nine actually. When Matty was in grade nine this guy in grade eleven started hanging around him and forced him out places with him which was annoying for Matty, he'd even forced him to sit though his football practices sometimes. Although he never really drank anything or really much because the eleventh grader would always get smashed and Matty would have to take care of him.
Matty looked down at the ground in front of him but a little bit ahead so he wasn't looking straight down at the ground. He nudged Andie slightly with his shoulder as he walked, he wasn't overly worried about the tourists and such because the people in his high school were ass holes and he'd not really gotten use to it but he kind of did at the same time. He was nudged harshly in the shoulder by someone walking by, he looked up quickly and looked at him the looked away regaining the ability to walk normally again. -
It's okay)
Andie showed no worry, whispering a quiet "it's fine, stay calm." To his boyfriend. He decided to switch places to walk on the outside, so if tourists wanted to bump into him they could. Andie had grown up getting into fights; he didn't want to get into one now, though. It would be embarrassing. He could take a beating, he could take plenty of s--- from people. Andie had lost many fights and won many as well. He pulled his hair behind his ear, before slipping that hand into his pocket. However, his left hand remained attached to Matty's.
He walked quickly up the sidewalk, encouraging his boyfriend to do the same, by pulling him along gently. He wasn't going faster very forcefully, though, he was a half a foot or a foot in front of Matthew. It was a noticeable difference, indeed, but not one where he was pulling the other boy along. He felt his fake ID in his pocket; his real one was in his wallet, which was in his other picket. It could be somewhat hard to differentiate sometimes, he supposed. -
And I'm also sorry that it probably makes no sense, I was trying to get it done before dinner.))
Matty chuckled softly, "I'm not going to freak out over some one bumping into me! I grew up in New York for goodness sakes." he said, "I'm not upset, it just surprised me a bit thats all." Matty said. He chuckled softly as they switched sides, he squeezed Andies hand slightly. He pulled his hand out of his pocket and let it dangle at his side.
Matty stumbled more than slightly as his boyfriend sped up, he wasn't being pulled that much but felt a little rushed. He stumbled over his own feet in the mental panic for a moment and tried to walk even pace with him but was failing, "Babe s-slow down a bit please." he said quietly. It may have only been a little bit but he was panicking over it slightly not wanting to be dragged behind him. -
That's alright
Sorry my response took a while.. Hw and dinner)
Andie chuckled a little at Matthew's earlier remarks about growing up in New York. He, however, gave no response. Instead, he had kept walking until Matthew had told him to slow. Andie was a little anxious about being out on the streets, but he was trying not to advertise it. Apparently, though, he was walking a little too fast. Alright, he was also being a little overprotective. Andie had always been a bit of a "momma bear" to those he loved, and apparently that instinct was showing at the moment. After consciously slowing down, he took a few deep breaths, telling himself to enjoy the time he was having with his boyfriend.
So, he swung their hands as they walked, rhythmically- in order to calm his nerves. He seemed to be walking to a specific beat as well, as his walking and hand swinging transitioned into his subconscious. The night was dark, as always, but street lamps lead the way for the two as they maneuvered through the popular Florida streets in the heat of the city. -
Matty sighed lightly when Andie slowed down a bit, he smiled and leaned up and kissed his cheek, "Thank you Mama Bear." He said quietly in his best Brother Bear impression although it was mainly just a British-ish accent. He stared down the street looking for the sign for the bar knowing they should be getting near it soon. He squeezed Andies hand, "Don't worry babe." He said with a smile, "We're just walking down the street." He said.
He chuckled and let his hand be swung, he guessed it was something to do with his nerves but he wasn't sure. He walked instep with his boyfriend happily, he looked around a bit at the people obviously a few drinks ahead of them tonight. -
Andie nodded in response to what his boyfriend had said. "Yeah, yeah I know." He leaned his head on Matthew's shoulder, his eyes darting from side to side. Andie was subconsciously taking the entire scenery in, loving the way the light hit the sidewalk. A breeze or two gusted past them, leaving cool air linger on their skin for a minute before it was gone.
And then the pub came into view. It was a large pub, with a large, light up sign that advertised the name of the restaurant. Andie couldn't deny. He was excited. He was nervous. He was happy. Andie was excited to be out with his boyfriend, happy to get a second chance. But there was a lot on the line. Their relationship. Everything they had worked for, fighting tooth and nail for the past year and a half. Andie wasn't about to give up, no. But this night, this date, was make or break for the romance. -
Matty nodded with a small giggle. He ran a hand through Andie's hair quickly and kissed his head. Matty shivered not expecting the wind at that moment and it cool on his skin.
He smiled at the pub as he saw it, he never really could tell you why the place didn't attract many tourists because it's not like it was hiding but it didn't really matter to him, that just meant more food for him. Matty knew that he needed to make sure that they worked because Matty didn't know how messed up his mind would be in break up mode and really didn't want to find out. He knew that worst case scenario if they broke up would be if he just went back home of something of that sort and he didn't want to find out. He knew that they could work they had worked for majority of the last year and that it should be easier this time to an extent since they already knew each other and such, but he knew that he was going to be busting his ass off to make sure Andie wanted to stay. -
Once they had reached the pub, Andie opened the door for the other boy. The door was a little heavy, even for Andie. He never understood why some restaurants made their doors so heavy and hard to pull. He felt like it was unfair to the weaker population, even if he wasn't a part of that weaker population. Andie took a glance inside the well lit pub, which had a good amount of locals in it, even so early in the night. They were laughing and talking and drinking. He knew a few- no, most of them, and they gave a small wave to the couple when they entered. Standing at the entrance, Andie asked his boyfriend if he wanted a booth or table, or they could always sit at the bar. The majority of the locals were, indeed, over twenty one, and drinking at the bar. However, there were a few groups who sat at booths and tables.
The boy scanned the seating that was available, quietly. Andie wanted to sit down as soon as possible, he couldn't very much tolerate standing there. 'Breathe in, breathe out.' He told himself, rolling back his shoulders and closing his eyes. He knew this people, he had no reason to fear them. He was off the streets, no fear there. -
Matty walked into the pub slowly he looked around at everything, "Um... How about a booth?" he said more of a question. He took a few steps in and leaned against the back of the empty booth near the door. He looked around the pub carefully he looked back at his boyfriend when he was done. He wasn't sure if he knew many of them, he recognized a few but he guessed Andie knew a lot or at least more of them than he did.
He moved off the back of the booth and rubbed Andies back gently, "Its fine." He mumbled with a small chuckle, "You look a little tense." He said with a smile. He kissed his cheek lightly and then backed away and went and sat in the booth not caring at the moment if Andie didn't want to sit in the booth. -
Andie slid in across from his boyfriend, smiling when he kissed his cheek. "Well, look at the menu. Let's decide what we want, I'll go in there and order when we decide." The man already knew the menu quite well, it was just bar food, after all. However, the food was very good. Andie wasn't too hungry, but he would order something to pass the time. Glancing at the appetizers, he decided on an order of mozzarella sticks, an order of onion rings, and a strawberry milkshake. Although the pub was supposed to be Irish, the food was very Americanized, which is one of the things Andie liked about it. It had just the right level of Irish-ness and just the right level of American-ness.
After a few minutes of glancing over the menu, Andie closed it. "Do you know what you want?" He asked, leaning over the table. He had almost forgotten it was still Matty's birthday, and there was still plenty of time to spoil the other male. After all, it was only eight. To him, that was quite early. -
Matty smiled and watched Andie slid in the booth, he nodded slightly, "Okay." He said and looked at the menu, he placed it on the table and stars at it, not reading it at all. He wasn't really thinking he just didn't want to read the menu, after the times he had been here he never ordered anything besides what he did the first time he was here and he wasn't changing that now. He loved the food and assumed it was all good but he knew that what he ordered was good and stuck with that.
After a little he pouted slightly and then bit his lip, his non existing thoughts were entrupted by Andie, "Um can I have... A... Cheese burger with curly Fry's instead of regular and a chocolate shake?" He asked and looked up at Andie and blushed, "Please?" He said the that part quietly and embarrassed. Matty was somewhat happy that Andie seemed to not remember it was his birthday, he didn't know if the pub did any sort of things for birthdays and he didn't want to find out. He glanced out the window.
