"Just being dizzy and, you know know, nausea.. Some pain here," She shrugged, pointing at her lower abdomen. Lynna honestly didn't think anything was wrong, as being sick wasn't impossible. It was probably just a stomach bug, or something she had ate. She kept her voice down, and Nevaeh was still asleep in the corner. The girl did end up waking up, though, instantly training her eyes on Aniel. She held her arms out to him, wanting her baby.
-
"Pain?" Rayne asked as she felt around the area, pressing her fingers down where her uterus is then moving to her ovaries. She frowned, looking at the woman. "This doesn't feel right at all. It's very rare that this happens, almost nonexistent, but... Oh this is not good.."
Aniel went to his mother, hugging her and snuggling into her arms, making sure to avoid her injuries. They still hadn't heard anything from Rhonen, which began to worry the pup. -
Lynna made a small hissing noise at Rayne's pressure, shaking her head. "No. No, what's not good? What's wrong?" The first thing on her mind was that it was happening again. She looked to Jule, biting down on her lip.
Nevaeh kissed the side of his head, frowning. "When your dad gets back, you tell him that I'm not talking to him until he says sorry.. Now. Are you hungry? I feel better, so if you want to help me, we can go get some lunch." -
"I don't know what you humans call this, but the fertilized egg.. It's not where it should be. It didn't make it to the uterus for the pup to grow. I...I need to consult the elders on what to do about this. You're probably the second or third woman in my lifetime to have this happen. Excuse me." Rayne hurried to leave the medical hut.
"I will, momma. I'll make sure he knows you don't wanna talk to him until he's sorry." Aniel nodded determinedly, getting up and doing his best to help her stay up. -
"..Jule," She breathes, watching Rayne leave. She could feel the tears building under her eyes. Another failed pregnancy, and by the way Rayne had acted, this was bad. She reached out, taking Jule's hand, closing her eyes.
Nevaeh left as quickly as she could, knowing Lynna probably wanted to be alone with Jule so that they could talk about what was happening. She smiled down at Aniel once they were out, ruffling his hair. "You're gonna be Momma's little boy, huh, my little snowball?" -
Jule sighed softly, moving to sit beside her, gently squeezing her hand. "I'm sorry.." He muttered, staying by her side while waiting for Rayne to return. "I guess we really can't have pups.." The werewolf seemed as a part of him died inside, knowing that they were likely going to lose it.
Aniel nodded at her when she said he'd be her little boy. "Mhm! Momma's snowball!" He giggled, holding her hand while he lead her to get something for lunch. Still no Rhonen in sight. The thought of losing another parent began to weigh on the pup's heart, his giggles going silence and smiles gone. -
"We can.. We can try again," She mumbled, but knew that it was likely never going to happen. It seemed like everything that had been promised to her was being ripped away. It wasn't fair, and she felt like she should be mad at something, that there had to be someone who was messing up. She, of course, decided to blame herself.
Nevaeh, noticing the change in her sons demeanor, picked him up, putting him on her hip. It was difficult, and it hurt a little, but she didn't care. "Baby, your dad will be back.. If he's not by the time we're done eating, I'll go find him myself. Don't you worry." -
"We'll try to get it at a better time. They say during ovulation is the best time." Jule nuzzled up to her, wrapping his arms around her securely when Rayne returned, a look of sympathy on her face.
"There's no way to help it. We'll have to terminate it or..well, you and the baby are more likely to not make it than either of you surviving this. I want to hope that your human body will miscarriage because of the difference in gestation time, but I can't rely on that to happen.." She sighed, trying to figure out how to go about everything.
Aniel hugged onto her, nodding lightly at what she said. "Okay.. I want fish for dinner. Can we have fish, momma?" He believed in what Nevaeh told him and would love his new parents no matter for taking him in. -
Lynna listened to Rayne, shifting nervously in Jule's hold. When her worries were confirmed, she turned, hiding her face in his chest for a few seconds. Waves of distress washed over, and she took a moment to breath before turning back, nodding. "Alright. I-I.. I guess I don't have much of a choice, hm? What do I do, then?" After all, she couldn't try again if she was dead.
"..Fish. Are they already caught and skinned? I can't fish, baby," She bit her lip, staring down at him, not really sure how it would work. -
"That's what I'm trying to think of. How to get rid of it without causing you more distress. I would say going back to your human doctors could help, but Jules wouldn't be able to stay with you." Rayne bit her thumb, not sure of what to do.
"..I don't know if anyone's caught any or not, and most that catch things share them with their family before anyone else.." Aniel frowned, realizing they probably wouldn't be able to have any. "Papa could catch it, but he's not here.." -
"..Oh." She was silent for a while, looking away, trying to think of a way out of this. "There are ways to.. Encourage miscarriages, but I'm not sure if they would work because the baby isn't where it should be," She sighed, looking up at Jule, seeking comfort.
"..Mm. Aniel, baby, is there anyone you can stay with? I'm going to go find your daddy. It shouldn't take long." She sat him down, kissing his forehead. "Maybe your grandparents will watch you..?" -
"That's it!" Rayne shot up, rummaging around the medical shelter for different things. "Miscarriages can be induced by a specific diet. We can try it, especially this early into your pregnancy. If there's no change within the next week or so, we'll...probably have to find a physical way to get rid of it.." She looked at Jule with an off smile. "Sorry, honey, but we're gonna need some honey..."
"...I dunno if they'll even like me..since I'm not Rhonen's real son or anything." Aniel was nervous about just walking up to their chief and asking to stay around him and his mate while Nevaeh went to look for Rhonen. He was still hungry, since he hadn't eaten lunch and was unsure if they would give him anything. "We really aren't like humans.." -
Lynna was glad that there was a chance they wouldn't have to do anything like surgery, but she was uncertain of if it would work. She hoped so, and hoped that the next pregnancy would go better. Perhaps she would let Jule turn her, but she wasn't sure she wanted that. She liked being human.
"Um.. Alright. Alright, baby, here's what you're gonna do. Get an apple or something, and go back to our hut. Eat it, sit tight, draw in the sand or something, but don't go anywhere. If you need something, try and talk to chief, but try to just sit tight. I'll be back really soon." She kissed his cheek again, and ruffled his hair. "I love you." -
"..I wonder.. Jule, if you can get me a few things specifically, I might be able to make old tonic or concoction to help increase the chance of miscarriage." Rayne told him what she needed then looked at Lynna. "I'm sorry.. I'm sure you were both very excited about having pups, but strange things happen sometimes. We can only do our best to make it better for the next time."
"I love you, too.." He mumbled, reaching to hug her. "Please be careful, momma.. You already got caught in one trap. I don't want hunters to get you." Aniel really didn't want to leave her side again, but obeyed. He would get what needed and wait, probably even take a nap. -
"Mhm.. Thank you. I'm sure there'll be another chance.." Perhaps there wouldn't be, though. Every miscarriage brought the chance of not being able to conceive again, and she knew that. All Lynna could do, though, was hope for the best. She also didn't want to be away from Jule's side, but she knew it would have to happen for a little bit. Lynna couldn't read his face, wasn't really sure how this was effecting him.
Nevaeh walked quickly, ignoring her limp. She was careful to avoid her traps, getting far into the woods before doing sonething that was a sure way to get Rhonen's attention. She found one of the traps, a rigged plain knife, and took it apart, using the knife to cut a gash in her arm. It would hea quickly, so she smeared as many trees as she could with her blood, knowing Rhonen would smell it.
