"I love you, too." The brunette called to his mate as she left then relaxed into the hammock again, resting his eyes. He didn't really sleep but more so relaxed and daydreamed for awhile before waking Aniel to get some breakfast.
"Yes, sometimes there's more than one. Usually two or three. I think five was the highest count, but that's an extremely rare, pure-breed thing. You'll likely have one or two like most mothers." Jule explained to her as he moved to get dressed. "Want some breakfast?" -
She was happy when she got back, and wasn't at all surprised to find her home empty. Not giving it much thought, she unpacked her things and headed down to the lake to try and ward off the heat.
"OhmyGod." Lynna shook her head, staring at him. "That sounds horrifying," She mumbled, but sighed, nodding at his offer. "Yes, please. Um.. Just, like.. No meat. I don't eat meat much," She explained, shrugging. -
Aniel was nibbling on his food while Rhonen sat beside him, waiting. He figured he'd check the lake for Nevaeh once they were done, then take their pup out to explore a bit, help him learn more about the area around them. Especially if his mate wanted to take the boy hunting any time soon.
"It's not that bad. Just a long process." Jule smiled at her and helped her up to dress. "There's plenty of vegetation for you, too. And once we're done, I'll take you to the lake for a bath then to Rayne to get your leg checked out. Okay?" -
Her dip in the length was shortened by the growing paranoia that something was off. She tried to ignore it, but eventually, she ended up getting out of the lake. Nevaeh had planned to head back to the camp, but she found her feet leading her in another direction. Before long, she had arrived back at the cabin, only to find a young man standing on the porch, going through a bag. When he smiled at her, she knew right away who he was. He was two years younger than her, but taller, and stocked with muscle. She had worked with him, back when she was younger. They had been close, and she had pretty much trained him to be a hunter. He was ruthless, cold, and almost impossible to stop. When they had parted ways, it had been after he had kissed her, and she had freaked out a bit. Well.. A lot. A whole lot.
"Nevaeh! Man, you are hard to find.. But look, here you are!" He was grinning, and seemed so happy to see her, but his presence struck fear into her heart.
Lynna was glad for the assistance, feeling a bit of pain start to creep back up from her legs. "..Mm. When do we talk to Nevaeh about getting my girls up here?" -
Rhonen looked up at the sky, estimating the time based on the positioning of the sun. There was no way Nevaeh would be gone for so long. He knew the cabin wasn't that far away, so he sent Aniel to Rayne before going off to find his mate. He only hoped he wouldn't find her in a trap, but followed her smell whenever it tickled his nose.
"Once we've eaten, we'll try to find her and talk to her about it. But like I said, it's up to our chief on what happens. Just hope Rhonen and Nevaeh can convince him." Jule told her and helped her out into the clearing once they were both dressed. -
Nevaeh subconsciously brushed her hair over her shoulder, so that it was covering the bite mark. "Hey, Daniel.. How are you? I just finished up here. Pretty much covered the whole woods.. If there were beasts here, they've obviously left," She explained, taking a couple of steps forward. Thank God that she was in her clothes instead of Rhonen's shirt. Daniel wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he wasn't stupid.
"Huuuuu," She groaned, leaning against him gently. Lynna knew they would smell her on him, and him on her, likewise. She didn't care. -
Rhonen, having morphed into the slightly-larger-than-the-average-sized-wolf - also known as feral - form to cover more ground, cautiously searched the woods, watching his every step as to not be caught in a trap. Every now and then Nevaeh's scent would get stronger and weaker in different areas until he finally caught her scent as if she were right in front of him. Along with the scent of another. A human male. He refrained from growling as he peered through brush some distance away from the cabin, looking for his mate.
Jule chuckled lightly, taking her to get something to eat. As just about anyone in their pack would say, no one seemed to make a ruckus about the scent. Maybe a few quick glances here and there, but nothing threatening or aggressive. -
"They moved on? Aw. I was looking forward to helping you kill some of those b------s," He hummed, and shrugged, stepping off the porch to great her in a hug. Nevaeh tensed when his arms went around her, and awkwardly patted his back before gently shoving him away. "Yeah. I'm going to track them, but.. But you should go chase some more likely profitable leads. I'm sure you wont find anything with me. After all, I'm quicker on my own."
"Nevaeh.. You assume the only reason I came was for the killing," He made a humph sound, shaking his head at her. "I wanted to see you!"
Lynna was happy enough at the lack of attention, taking one of his hands to lace their fingers together. It was nice being close to him. -
The young wolf tensed nervously, sensing that his mate didn't want to be anywhere near the other hunter. But there wasn't much he could do in that situation that wouldn't expose himself and his pack. Nevaeh wasn't really at all different from when she was human, so she could blend in with society if she truly wanted to. No one knew she'd been bitten unless they checked. Although, many didn't know a bite to the nape of the neck was how the werewolf curse was spread, except for hunters.
The brunette smiled at her and lead her all around to look through gardens for whatever caught her eye. "Feel free to get whatever you want. Just sure not to take all of a certain food. We have to share and make them last. Once winter hits, it's mostly meat, so.. Well, I could catch you some fish if you'd like that." -
"Ah.. Daniel, that's not..-" He cut her off with a shrug, bending down to pick up an object up off the ground. It was a small knife, a silver one. One of hers, she realized. It was probably one of the ones she had dropped there. "That's mine," She hummed, taking it from him quickly, careful to touch only the handle. She cleared her throat. "Daniel, really. Go home."
"Fish.. I guess so," She sighed, grabbing an apple. It was all she really wanted, as she never did eat much in the morning, like Nevaeh. -
His wolf ears pricked at the name. Daniel. A very common human name he realized. He exhaled deeply through his nose, standing as stiff as a statue as he glared daggers at the man. The sun glimmering off the silver blade made him nervous and afraid for his mate. He didn't want to expose himself, but he couldn't tell if Nevaeh was really in danger or not.
"I know it'll be hard but not much grows in the winter." The young wolf gave her a sympathetic smile and reached for an apple for himself. -
He started to say something about having come all this way just to see her, but Nevaeh shook her head, cutting him off mid sentence. "No. No, that was your choice, I never asked you to come. I came her for a job, not to-"
"Do you really expect," He began, and she could tell by his voice that his anger was building, "Anyone else to take you? You're not a virgin, so you're worthless. You're lucky that I'm even interested. If you weren't a hunter, you'd probably be like Lynna- A worthless-" He didn't get to finish his sentence, though. If it was because of the heat of turning, or just normal anger, Nevaeh had no problem finding the courage to slap him. He stepped back, started, staring at her for a few seconds, before mumbling something along the lines of 'b----,' tackling her. It was easy- He was bigger than her, built better. Daniel had little trouble pinning her.
"I know. It's fine. I think Ella and Molly have fruit preserves down in the cellar, so we can bring those, too," She hummed, grinning at him. -
Rhonen let out a growl that could be heard along the distance and burst from his hiding spot, charging at the other male. He was disgusted by Daniel and the things he said to his mate. He wanted to tear the human's throat out but settled with knocking the hunter aside. So long as he was away from Nevaeh, he'd be at some ease. Rhonen cautiously backed towards his mate, watching the other male with bared teeth and fur that stuck up in places.
"Sounds like a plan, if Rhonen can convince his father anyway. I wonder where those two went off to, actually. We should've seen them by now.." Jule hummed, taking a bite of apple as he looked around at the other werewolves. -
The hunter was startled for a moment, but recovered quickly, getting on his feet. He drew a machete from his belt. Nevaeh recognized it. It was his choice weapon, and he owned four or five, two of them tipped in silver. This one, however, was coated in it. He took a step forward, shooting her a look. "Nevaeh. The knife," He hissed, and it took her a second to understand what he meant. She knew that the werewolf was Rhonen- She'd never seen him in this form, but she knew. The thought of hurting him almost physically hurt her. She shook her head, taking a nervous step back. "Daniel, please. Just turn around as go home."
Lynna shrugged. "You know. Young love, huh?" She was a year older than Nevaeh, and really had no place saying that, but still. She tossed the apple back and forth between her hands, frowning. -
Rhonen wasn't growling anymore so much as showing his teeth. His fur flared up again as the werewolf stayed close to his mate. He wished silver didn't work so easily, like the first ancient wolves to inhabit the world. They had probably been the most powerful beings in existence, at least that's how the stories went. The young wolf frowned a bit, solely wanting peace and to return home with his mate. His eyes shifted to look up at Nevaeh with a soft whine.
"Something wrong?" The younger asked, leaning his head on her shoulder and reaching up to take one of her hands.
