Despite his desire for sleep, Rhyder barely slept since he had been thinking all night. As he loaded his bags into the car, he looked to his old house. Goodbye old home... He slowly turned away and got into the car. ...hello new life. The drive was silent except for the sound of the wheels on the road, since neither Rhyder or Judas wanted to say anything to each other. As they arrived at his new home, Rhyder noticed that it was a small apartment near the edge of town. Well at least its somewhat out of the way so we should have some privacy... it should do for now.
-
I honestly didn't know that apartments at the edge of town existed. I thought it was a myth xD )
Sylvya and Martin got there not long after Rhyder did. She quickly grabbed her stuff out of the backseat, shouldering her backpack and letting her duffel rest on the ground. She tossed a "See ya, man" at the driver and a quick "bye" at her dad before turning to take in the surroundings.
Martin said nothing to her, but popped his head out and asked Judas if there was anything they needed to discuss. -
(There's a bunch right around my neighborhood, which is near the edge of town XD )
Grabbing his bags from the car, Rhyder glanced around the area to try and get familiar with it a little. Grabbing the key he had been handed this morning and shrugging, he started towards the front door of his new home.
Judas thought for a moment, then shook his head. "If anything goes wrong or they need anything, they know how to contact us. -
Ohh okay. That didn't seem like the edge of town to me. Gotcha though ^~^ )
Sylvya had grabbed her bag and followed Rhyder up to the house, Martin having forgotten to give her a key of her own. She smirked as she overheard Judas and muttered so only she and Rhyder could hear. "Ooh, no thanks, you've given us enough already." -
Yeah, it doesn't seem like it, but my house is really close to the city limits, so I count that as the edge of town n_n )
Catching Sylvya's comment, he chuckled as he unlocked and opened the door. Heading inside, he got his first look at his new home. It was a small apartment, with a small kitchen and dining room, a living room with a couch and TV, one bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with a queen sized bed. Catching sight of the fact that there was only one bed made Rhyder groan a little. Both of us sleeping in one bed is going to get really awkward, really fast. Looks like I'll be on the couch then. Dragging his stuff into the living room, he looked out the window to take in a little more of their surroundings. -
Alrighty, we never went that direction, so I couldn't tell. Alrighty then! Good place to be living ^^ )
Sylvya had momentarily glanced around then wandered into the kitchen. Looking around in the kitchen for food, she was glad to find that it was nicely stocked. She wandered into the living room and sat down in a chair, glancing up at Rhyder. "Well..." -
Ah, right... Well next time then! Yes, its nice! )
Turning away from the window, Rhyder scratched the back of his head, glancing back at her from time to time. Fully coming to terms that they were really living alone together, he became a bit flustered but tried to keep his composure. "Um... First of all, we should probably unpack some of our things. You can take the bedroom to sleep in, I'll sleep out here. After we unpack... want to walk around and check out the area?" -
Okay!)
Sylvya shrugged. "I've slept in worse places than a couch, I can camp out here if you want. And maybe, in time. I think we need to know more about each other first, before we go venturing out places. I mean, what if we see someone we know?" -
Rhyder shrugged back. "I'm fine wherever, you can take your pick. And you have a point, our first meeting wasn't exactly the best to get to know each other..." Rhyder sighed at the thought of their first meeting. "But now, thankfully, we're away from our fathers and have a chance to talk. So how do you want to do this? Each of us give a self introduction, or should we just start going back and forth with questions?" Understanding by now that his fiancee didn't like being told what to do much, he decided to give her some options to chose from rather than forcing anything.
-
Nodding slowly, she shrugged. She had never seen the point in planning what you were going to talk about, it seemed pointless. She pursed her lips then went for the questions. Self-intros could come later if they wanted to rant. "Questions, I guess. What's your favorite color?"
-
Rhyder nodded and thought for a moment as he sat down on the couch to relax a little. "Green, and yours? Also, what's your favorite food?"
-
Sylvya shrugged. She never really thought about her favorite anything, and this was getting to her. "Uh, purple I guess. Maybe blue." The food question stumped her. A lot of her meals were MREs, so it's not like she was picky. She shifted uncomfortably and shrugged again, putting a good deal of thought into it before responding. "I'd have to say chicken and dumplings, I guess.. You?"
-
Rhyder knew the question would come back to him, but he still wasn't prepared too answer. He ate anything that was put in front of him, so he had never really developed a favorite from them. "Um... If I had to choose, I'd say salmon. Yeah, salmon is pretty good..."
-
Sylvya nodded slowly, trying to think if she had ever had salmon. "Sounds nice..." Her hair was bothering her- a lot. Usually, when she was sitting in a chair in a living room, her hair was down. Right now, it was up, as it always was when she left the house. She was never outside her house with her hair down, only inside would she release in from the ever-present messy bun. The fact that her hair was up, she was in a recliner, and she was uneasy all bothered her and made everything feel more awkward.
-
Rhyder nodded in agreement before tilting his head a little. He had been picking up on Sylvya's discomfort, but he had waited to ask until now. "Hey, are you alright? I can understand being uncomfortable, hell, I am too, but something else seems to be bothering you... Sorry if its none of my business, but you seem very...fidgety."
