"I...I saw this." She said flicking her tail up towards the sun. "The light. I was curious." She hesitated. "And you tried to help me. Why?"

He growled "I hate the Shades. I was once one of them and I killed my keeper." He shrugged. "I want what we used to have. Two clans meeting as one. Instead we hide in the shadows like cowards." He sighed softly "I come up here all the time. I miss the sun and the stars." He looked at the sky a flash of vurnibility in his eyes but it was quickly gone.

Shira tilted her head. "Stars...?"

He chuckled softly seeing the look on her face. "Come on." He led her around the pound going through trees. Grass played around his paws. Leaping ontop of rocks he got to the top. The bolder was looking out over the lake. And the sun was about to set giving the sky a firey look. He sat down watching the sun.

Shira gasped. "Amazing..." She whispered. The shades of magenta, scarlet, pale orange and gold were enough to stun the she-puma.

He chuckled watching her. Then his favorite part came. The moon began to climb high into the sky and and the stars began to shine high above them. His eyes grew sad as he thought of the stories his mother used to tell him.

Her eyes remained fixed on the sky until she heard X's soft chuckles stop. Glancing over at him, he almost looked...sad. Perhaps he wasn't as stone as everyone thought.

Stretching out his body he yawned, white ivories flashing in the moonlight. He took one last look at the sky "Ready to go?" He asked softly. They wouldn't notice his abcense but they would notice hers. Stupid Shades. He thought his claws flexing at the thought of them. How he wished to take over.

She looked down, ears lowered, suddenly forlorn. "No." She turned away. "But I'll have to." She cringed at the thought of Crade asking where she had been.

He led t way back to the tunnels but stopped before he went in. "When you get back roll in something so they don't smell the fresh air on you." He chuckled "Or rub on me an they won't touch you with my scent." He yellow eyes flashed "If they do, thy can deal with me." He disappears into the darkness as it swallowed his form and turned his dark red pelt into pitch black.

Shira watche him go, leaving her feeling a bit empty. But she shook the thought off. The black puma stopped to rub her pelt in some mud before she returned to the Shade camp.

Back in the encampment he headed off to his cave. Bones were scatters on the outside more of effect for him. Stepping over them he padded inside where he had made a bed of furs. Laying down ontop of the pile he closed his eyes and drifted asleep. The fresh print of the she-puma and the night still fresh in his sleeping mind.

After thouroghly questioning from Crade and a quick cover that she had been hunting off-territory, Shira finally slipped away. She entered a small back cave, just large enough for her to stretch out comfortably. In fact, another puma could probably fit in with her, not that she planned on staying. She had to find a way to escape to that land of light and stars.

He woke up close to what would be dawn. He yawned and stood up stretching out. Padding outside of his cave he was met by Crade. Lifting his lips in a snarl he glared t the male with hatred.

The gray puma sneered at him. "So, we finally meet. The legendary X."
