The closing credits moved down the screen until it faded to black. Christopher had closed his eyes and had since fallen asleep. The leukemia was definitely making a comeback. -
Jenifer glanced at Chris, he was asleep. She sighed, thinking about whether to wake him up, or leave him.
Just then, her phone rang. She looked to see who it was. Mom. She dropped the phone. -
Chris was roused from his sleep by a sharp ringing. "Hm?" He rubbed his eyes and sat up groggily. "What was that?"

Jenifer quickly picked up her phone, hung up, and put it in her pocket. "Ju-Just my phone...Sorry.."

He shook his head. "Don't be sorry. You can't control when it rings. I'm sorry I fell asleep. I didn't realize I was so tired."

"I-It's fine." She said quickly.

"Jenny? I have something to tell you..." He bit his lip, staring at his hands.

"What is it?" She asked, sitting beside him.

"Well, two things, actually..." He met her gaze and took in a deep breath. "I like you... More than just a friend or a sister. I have since grammar school... I wish I didn't wait until now to tell you."

Her eyes widened. "R-really..?" She asked.

Chris nodded, his eyes sad. "Really. Which makes this next part so much harder..."

She hugged him tight. "What's the next part?" She whispered.

"It's coming back," I mumbled into her shoulder. "And this time everything they've tried couldn't stop it."

"What?" She said, pulling back to look him in the eyes. "Chris...no...no." She said, blinking back tears. She put a hand on his cheek. "No.." She whispered. "You-You can't leave me...you can't.."
