Jess smiled. "Chinese sounds good." She looked at their parents. "Can you get Chinese?"

Their mother nodded. "Sure thing. The usual?"
Kent grinned, proud of his achievement. He loved when he overcame obstacles. -
Jess nodded, then turned to smile at Kent.

His father waved Kent over. "Come on, Kent. Why don't you come with us? You can choose something special, too."
Kent glanced at Jess. He wasn't used to changes. -
Jess shrugged. "Do you want to go, buddy? If you do, I'll come too."

Kent shrugged. "Okay..."
They all walked out to the car. -

Jess opened the car door for Kent and did his seat belt for him once he got in.

Their father drove across town to Panda Palace and placed their order. Kent had chosen to order extra fortune cookies.

Jess just ordered her usual, and took the bags of food as her mother handed them back.

They climbed back into their car, the various aromas of Asian cuisine making Kent's stomach growl.
"Alright, now we've got a bit of an errand to run, kids," their father said. "We're moving to Vermont. We're picking up the papers tonight."
Their mother stepped in. "There's a school there for autistic children and their peers. We've decided it's the perfect school for both of you. There's no tuition, and they only accept kids of prime personality, which means..."
"Which means there'd be no more bullying. Ever," their father chimed in. -
"WHAT?!?!" Jess yelled. "Are you KIDDING me?!?!"

Kent flinched at the sudden change in volume.
"Honey... We've already talked to Bryan about it. He'll be staying with us." -

Jess glanced at Kent, giving him an apologetic look. "Bryan knows, too?! You HAVE to be kidding me. I mean... SERIOUSLY?!"
