The vice principal looked at the Akira and Maddy sternly. "To my office, now." With that they follow into the main office to where the principal's office was. "Wait here," the vice said, pointing to the two seats near the door that he went into and closed. Akira sat down.

Xavier watched Akira and Maddy go to the office, with a stern look back at Sam, he followed them, he was going to convince the vice princeable and possibly the priceible it wasn't their fault, they were only using self defence.

Maddy was still in shock about what she did. She sat down quietly in the chair next to Akira and let out a sigh. "I didn't know I could do that... And I'm sorry, I think I made it worse." She looked up at Akira.

"No Maddy, it's fine. I'm sorry you got drug into all this," he said, and weakly smiled. "You did great by the way."

"Don't be sorry." She touched his hand lightly for a moment. She smiled and raised her eyebrows. "I think you're the one who did great. God, no one's ever stood up for me like that before... I'm not exagerrating when I say you're my hero."

Akira couldn't help feeling the blush that crept to his face. "Wow, thanks. I never thought I could be anybody's hero." He touched her hand back, holding it for second. A moment later though the principal called them in there to talk.
"I see that you've had trouble with these boys in the past Akira," he said looking at what seemed to be a file. "However I'm surprised to see you in here Miss Maddy. Can you please tell your side of the story." -
Maddy blushed and said, "You thought wrong."
Maddy turned to the principal. "Well, the boys were making fun of us, and one shoved me... I was acting out of self defence, as was Akira. They were a threat to both of our physical and emotional health, sir." Maddy stumbled over every couple words. She'd never talked to some one of authority before. "And, I'd like to point out that Akira has fallen victim to them many times prior to this event, and nobody of political importance in this school has acted accordingly." Maddy looked at Akira, hoping he could see the appreciation in her eyes. Of everyone she knew, he was the bravest, and nicest. -
The principal seemed quite moved by what she said. "Well, it does seem to me that you both are well behaved, the only thing I've seen you both in trouble for is involving these guys. I shall talk to their coach about this also to see what he thinks. It saddens me to think athletes that are supposed to represent the school are engaging in such unhonorable behavior. You may go leave for class now."
With that they left the room and Akira sighed. "Thank God, I didn't expect that," He said. -
"Me either," she replied. "What class do you have now?" she asked Akira.

"Math, unfortunately," he chuckled. "We have science together afterwards right? I'll see you then." He smiled and took a turn at the classroom to his right.

"Good luck. Yeah, I have science next period. See you then." She smiled and then walked down to the end of the hall and headed downstairs for tech ed.

Math drug on a while, the teacher giving notes about algebraic fractions. Akira was half tuned out of this though and was working on a drawing in his notebook he'd been working on of the lake.

Maddy tried to pay attention to the metal she was cutting for her windmill in tech ed, but she couldn't help but think of Akira. Her metal sheers slipped and cut her left finger. "Ugh..." she whispered, heading to the sink to wash it out. After she was done she headed back to work for the remainder of class. Finally they were dismissed. Maddy hurried to her locker, looking around for Akira.

Class dismissed and brought Akira back to the present. He put his notebook back in his bag and walked out to his locker hoping to find Maddy somewhere. When saw her he smiled and they walked to class. Then her noticed her hand. "Whoa, are you okie?" he asked, holding her hand and checking it out.
