“Hm, I haven’t heard- oh wait, yeah, a friend of mine went there,” Evan said, nodding a little. “That kinda sucks.”
-
“Yeah, it was- it wasn’t great,” Connor said, chuckling softly. He rubbed the back of Evan’s hand with his thumb, humming softly.
-
Evan’s hand tingled from the contact and he couldn’t hide the small smile that appeared on his face.
-
Connor glanced over and blushed, smiling at Evan’s reaction. He furrowed his brows a little, trying to come up with something else to say.
-
“So- uh, what are your parents like?” Evan asked, hiding his smile.
-
“Uh, I mean- They’re like parents are-“ Connor said, chuckling softly. “It’s uh, just my mom, though. Our dad left when I was like, 6 or 7.”
-
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Evan said, frowning a little
-
“Don’t be sorry, he- he was an a--hole,” Connor said, chuckling bitterly.
-
“Oh, okay, then I’m not sorry,” Evan said with a quiet chuckle.
-
Connor smiled a little, chuckling softly. He leaned into Evan’s side a little, humming quietly.
-
Evan blushed, smiling softly. He usually minded physical touch, but he didn’t seem to when it came to Connor.
-
“What was the name of the rescue center again?” Connor asked, squinting as he looked forward at a sign up ahead.
-
“Uh, Happy Paws, or something like that,” Evan said, furrowing his brows.
-
“I think we’re almost there,” Connor said, gently squeezing Evan’s hand. They soon arrived at the shop, heading towards the entrance. “God, I wanna hold a kitten so bad-“ He said, chuckling softly.
-
“Oh my God- me too,” Evan said with a smile, clenching his other hand into an excited fist.
