Evan shrugged, nodding hesitantly. “Sure. I just- can you make sure my dad isn’t like- like we wouldn’t run into him?”
-
“Do you not want to tell him?” Connor asked, standing up and pocketing his phone.
-
“Tell him what?” Evan asked, furrowing his brows.
-
“That we were gonna go out? Wait, f---, I’m confusing myself,” Connor said, chuckling softly.
-
"Oh, yeah, I don't think he wants me out of my room right now, so yeah," Evan said with a nod, moving to stand.
-
“Okay, that’s what I thought,” Connor said, chuckling softly. “I’ll make sure the coast is clear,” he added, standing to his feet. He walked to the bedroom door and opened it, peeking out and looking around.
-
Evan stood, following him to the door and standing idly behind him.
-
Connor glanced back for a moment, smiling a little before heading towards the stairs. He went down a little and looked downstairs, not hearing or seeing Evan’s dad. “Okay, I think we’re clear,” he whispered, looking back at Evan.
-
"Okay- could I grab your arm so I don't trip?" Evan whispered back.
-
“Of course, yeah,” Connor replied in a whisper, moving back up the stairs and holding his arm out for Evan to grab onto.
-
"Thank you," Evan said softly, carefully and gently grabbing onto Connor's arm.
-
“No problem,” Connor replied with a small smile, leading Evan down the stairs.
-
Evan followed quietly gripping onto his arm if he got too far away.
-
Connor led Evan to the front door and carefully opened it, making sure not to make too much noise. He led Evan outside and down the steps, humming softly.
-
Evan let go of Connor's arm once they were down the stairs, immediately changing his mind and gripping onto his arm as he almost tripped. "Sorry- I'm good-"
