“I just- I dunno. Just- like, I obviously deserve what I’m getting,” Evan mumbled, shifting closer to Connor accidentally, the bed sinking under his weight.

“You think you deserve to lose your sight?” Connor asked softly, crossing his arms. “Did you crash the car on purpose?”

“Yeah,” Evan said, exhaling shakily. “I mean- I write depressing poetry for fun, what did you expect-“

“Hm. Guess we have another thing in common,” Connor said, exhaling softly. “I mean, I didn’t purposely crash a car, but I uh, I did something similar on purpose.”

“What did you do?” Evan asked quietly, rolling onto his back and wiping his tears off his face.

“I- I’d kind of rather not say? Sorry, it’s just-“ Connor paused, taking a shaky breath, “it’s kind of hard to talk about…”

“Oh- okay, sorry,” Evan whispered, nodding a little.

“It’s okay,” Connor said softly, crossing his legs. “Maybe I’ll explain one day, just- not now,” he added in a quiet voice running a hand through his hair.

“Okay,” Evan whispered, exhaling shakily.

Connor watched Evan for a moment, exhaling softly. “Do you wanna listen to some music?” He asked, pulling out his phone.

“Sure,” Evan said quietly, rolling onto his side with his back facing the wall.

Connor smiled a little and pulled up Spotify, humming softly. “Any suggestions?” He asked, glancing over at Evan.

“Play some more oldies,” Evan mumbled, rubbing his face. -

Connor nodded and pulled up a playlist, putting it on. Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield started playing and the brunette started humming softly to it, resting his phone on the bed. -

Evan listened, rubbing a hand through his hair.
