“I’m not moving too far away, relax,” Connor said with a chuckle, stepping closer again. “I wanna see you try it without holding onto me or anything first.”

“I’m not gonna die, right?” Evan said with a chuckle, half-joking.

"No, of course not," Connor said reassuringly, chuckling softly. "I'm right here to catch you if you fall, okay?" -

“Aw man, okay,” Evan said with a chuckle, shifting his left foot slightly before hesitantly pushing off with his right. The board started rolling down the pavement, not picking up much speed. -
“See? You’re doing great- Make sure you keep your eyes ahead of you, so you don’t skate into someone,” Connor replied with a chuckle, following close by Evan.

“How would I steer? Lean?” Evan said, pushing again with his right foot.

“You just tilt whichever direction you wanna go- Left for left, right for right,” Connor said, continuing to follow Evan.

Evan nodded, tilting to his right a little and almost bumping into the chain link fence. “Oop, s----“

“Pfft- You okay?” Connor asked, chuckling softly as he moved closer to Evan.

“Yep, didn’t see that there,” Evan said, chuckling quietly and leaning the other way.

Connor chuckled and nodded, moving out of the way a little but staying close by Evan.

Evan wobbled a little as they came to the corner of the skate park, bringing his foot down to stop himself. “Was that okay?”

"Yeah, you did great, hun~" Connor replied, smiling. "Do you wanna learn an easy trick?"

“Depends,” Evan replied, stepping off the baird. “Show me what it is-“

"It's really easy, trust me," Connor said with a chuckle, setting a food on the board. "It's called an ollie, and it's probably like, the simplest skateboarding trick ever," he added, rolling forward on the board a little and making the small jump on his board he did earlier.
