"Yeah, that's what a lot of people do- but when I doodle in the margins of my notebook when I'm taking notes, I'm "being disrespectful" and "not listening"," Adrienne muttered, rolling her eyes.

"it's confirmation bias. They think if you do anything but write you're too distracted because you have bad grades." Octavia stated.

"Exactly, which is bulls---," Adrienne grumbled, crossing their arms over their chest.

"it's an upsettingly common problem. teachers will usually assume it's your fault if you're bad at their classes." Octavia said

"It's not my fault they're hard classes, and it's not like anyone wanted to tutor me- well, until you," Adrienne spoke softly, looking over at Octavia. "Well, I guess you were kinda forced to by the counselor, but y'know-"

"I'm glad I took the job. You're not so frustrating once we get down to the actual problem." Octavia said happily as she continued detailing the iris of the eye

"Oh- uh, thanks," Adrienne replied with a small smile, nodding shortly. "You're uh, pretty cool, too," they added in a quiet voice, looking away and running a hand through their hair
