“It’s okay, it’s okay, beetles are mostly friendly,” Liam said, holding his hand out for the beetle to crawl onto. “See?”

Jared chuckled awkwardly, looking over Liam’s shoulder at the bug. “He’s staring me down, what the f----“ He whispered in a half-joking panicked tone, chuckling softly.

“He kinda is,” Liam said with a giggle, watching the big as it crawled up his arm. “He doesn’t bite, I promise-“

Jared watched the bug intensely, staring it down. “You bite my boyfriend, I’ll f---in’ squish you, motherf---er,” he muttered, pointing at the beetle. It fluttered it’s wings, making the brunette flinch and pull his hand back swiftly. “Jesus Christ-“

“Hey, be nice,” He said, partially to the beetle and partially to his boyfriend. He tossed his arm a little, the beetle flying up and away, back into a tree. “See? All good.”

Jared exhaled softly, chuckling as he grabbed onto Liam’s hand. “Sorry- I know you love bugs, but they kinda give me the heebie jeebies sometimes,” he said, gently squeezing his boyfriend’s hand.

“It’s okay,” Liam said with a small smile, twining their hands together. “I don’t understand how, but I respect it.”

“Some bugs are pretty cool, like moths and butterflies- Others kinda freak me out, super f---in’ creepy-lookin’,” Jared said, chuckling softly. “I do know one bug I could never hate, though~” He said with a smile, pressing a kiss on his boyfriend’s cheek.

Liam flushed red, covering his face with one hand. “Stop it-“ he said, giggling quietly.

“Neverr~” Jared said, chuckling softly as he gently squeezed Liam’s hand. “C’mon, let’s keep bug hunting,” he said with a smile, guiding his boyfriend back onto the path.

“Okay,” Liam said with a smile, lowering his hand as he followed Jared back. “What’s your favorite butterfly?” He asked, glancing over at his boyfriend.

“I like the blue morpho butterflies we saw at that zoo that one day, remember? The bright blue ones? Those were hella pretty,” Jared said, glancing over at Liam. “Monarch butterflies are pretty cool too, kinda basic, though, not gonna lie-“

“Yeah, real,” Liam said with a chuckle. “And yeah, those were really pretty. Reminds me of someone I know~”

“Who~?” Jared said, pretending to be oblivious as his face heated up. He chuckled, rubbing the back of Liam’s hand with his thumb.

Liam furrowed his brows a little bit in confusion, giggling. “You, you dork!”
