Theo looked up at her, confused. "Wait... What do you mean by that?" He asked quietly. She wasn't still into him too, right?
-
Hazel flushed, speaking quickly. ‘I-I meant, y’know, breakups are hard and stuff..’
-
Theo nodded, sighing softly. He tried not to get too optimistic over her blushing. "Yeah..."
-
Hazel trailed off, sighing.
-
Theo didn't say anything for a while. "Sorry for dragging you into this."
-
‘It’s okay. I don’t mind,’ Hazel said.
-
Theo shrugged, sighing. He looked up at her again, trying to guess what she was thinking.
-
Hazel gave a small smile, looking down at her hands.
-
Theo gave a small smile back.
-
The doorbell rang. ‘That’s probably Max. I’ll get it,’ Hazel said, standing up. ‘You stay here and have some French bread.’
-
Theo nodded, taking a bite of a piece of bread as he sat there.
-
Hazel smiled slightly and walked to the front door. It was Layla. She winced. ‘Hey, Lay-‘ The French girl glared and shoved past her, and stomped up to Theo’s room. Max was behind her. He watched Layla stomp into the house and looked at Hazel. ‘Couldn’t stop her, sorry.’
Layla stormed into Theo’s room. ‘You invited your ex over?! Ugh! I came back because I forgot my sunglasses,’ she said in French. -
Theo didn't answer, finding her sunglasses for her and tossing them to her. He frowned, knowing she wasn't all that wrong.
-
Layla caught her sunglasses and stormed out. Hazel and Max had hurried back to Theo’s room, and Layla shoved past them and slammed the front door. Theo’s mum looked very concerned, but didn’t say anything.
-
Theo buried his face in his hands. He was a very messed-up person.
