Hannah watched Evan for a moment, sighing softly. She sighed softly, resting a hand on his back as they walked into the building. “Guessing she’s not very happy,” she said, walking over to the front desk.
-
“No, but she’s hopefully on her way,” Evan said softly, pocketing his phone and walking along with Hannah.
-
Hannah nodded and spoke to the lady at the front desk for a moment, grabbing some paperwork. “The room’s being set up right now, so I need you to sign some papers while you wait,” she said, handing Evan some papers attached to a clipboard and a pen. “I also have papers for your mother when she gets here.”
-
Evan nodded, grabbing the clipboard. “Alright. Do you want me to sit in the waiting room and do it?”
-
“Yeah, you can go wait in there- I need to check on some stuff, I’ll be right back, okay?” Hannah said with a small smile, gesturing towards the waiting room.
-
“Okay,” Evan gave a nervous smile before he went and sat down, starting write things down. “Now what is this all about?” About fifteen minutes later, Evan’s moment rushed over to him, crouching down in front of him. “Dear God, what did you do to yourself? How did you even fracture a rib?” “Mom, I didn’t do anything. Some kids at school beat me up yesterday-“
-
Hannah came back after a bit, checking up on Evan. “You finished with those papers, Evan?” She asked as she walked in, pausing when she saw his mother.
-
“Who are you, how do you know Evan?” Evan’s mother said, animosity dripping off her voice as she stood to face Hannah. “Mom- this is my friends mother, Hannah. You’ve talked to her on the phone before, remember?” “Why didn’t you immediately contact me about this, like an adult?” His mother said, crossing her arms.
-
“Well, I figured Evan wanted to explain the situation to you himself, nor did I feel like it was my place to step in,” Hannah spoke in a calm voice, resting her hands on her hips. “Now, I have some papers I need you to sign for the x-ray-“
-
“Why should I? I know Connor better than you do, and I know for a fact that he’s faking this,” She said, glaring at Hannah. “Mom, I don’t want to be here just as much as you,” Evan said, standing. “Please, I can prove to you something’s wrong with my rib if you sign those papers and let me bet the x-ray.” “No, and you’re grounded, so you’re coming straight home, right now,” she said sternly, pointing an accusing finger at Evan.
-
“Ma’am, you need to calm down, or else I will have to ask you to leave the building,” Hannah spoke, stepping in front of Evan. “He’s hurt and he needs this x-ray- And you do not know anything about my son, so I’d advise you refrain from speaking about him like that in front of his own mother,” she added, a hint of anger in her voice.
-
(wait sorry i didn’t mean to write connor idk why i did 😭)
“Fine, I will only consent to the x-ray to prove he’s faking this, okay?” She said, glaring at Hannah. “Just give me paperwork.” -
(XD oops-)
Hannah feigned a smile and handed Evan’s mother the paperwork, sighing softly. “Are you finished with the papers I gave you, Evan?” She asked, turning around and looking over at the brunette. -
“Yeah, I am,” Evan nodded, grabbing it from the seat he was sitting on and handing it to Hannah.
-
Hannah smiled at Evan and nodded, taking the clipboard. “I’ll be right back, gonna bring these to the front desk for you,” she said with a smile, walking out of the room.
