Karl smiled and rested his head on Nick's shoulder, curling up close in his arms. He hummed softly as he watched the movie, rubbing his side with his thumb.

Nick sat as his desk, surrounded by books and papers, his laptop sat in front of him with words that had started to swim in his head. He rested his head in his hands, pressing the heels of his hands onto his eyes as they began to water. -
(probably? but wouldn't it be midterms instead of finals??
idk tho lol)
Karl hummed as he walked into their bedroom, walking over to the dresser with a pile of clean clothes he was going to put away. "How's studying coming along, hun~?" He asked, glancing at Nick for a second before going to put away the clothes. -
(uhhh no cause don’t they do it by semesters in college?)
“Uh, fine,” Nick said softly, his voice shaky. His eyes never left the computer screen, trying to remember the information and taking note on it on a piece of paper in front of him. -

Karl frowned a bit at the tone of Nick's voice, pausing putting up the laundry for a moment before continuing. "Do you wanna take a break? You've definitely been at it for a while," he suggested with an awkward chuckle, putting up the last articles of clothing in the drawers. -

“Uh, no, I don’t think I can,” Nick replied, his voice the same as before. “I really have to study for this exam.” -
"Hun, if you don't take breaks, you won't be able to actually process the information you're studying," Karl spoke gently, standing up and walking over to Nick's side. "C'mon, how about- how about we get a snack, huh? How's that sound?"

Nick let out a small whimper, stopping himself from arguing with Karl. He nodded a little, pushing himself away from the desk and standing. “Yeah, okay.”

Karl gave Nick a small, sympathetic smile. "C'mere, baby," he said softly, grabbing his hand and leading him into the kitchen. "Have you eaten anything today? Like, a proper meal??"

“Uh, no?” Nick said quietly, reaching a hand up to rub his eye. “I kind of forgot.”

Karl exhaled and nodded, gently squeezing Nick's hand. "Do you want me to make you a sandwich or something?" He asked gently, looking over at his boyfriend with a small smile on his face.
