Nick giggled, taking another bite of his ice cream. “Ugh, I love our new apartment,” he commented, leaning against the counter.

"Same~" Karl replied with a smile, copying Nick and leaning against the counter.

Nick leaned over, pressing a kiss on Karl’s cheek. “Are you tired?”

"Kinda. Mentally, yes," Karl replied with a quiet sigh, taking another bite of his ice cream. "I- I did a bit of job hunting, and I've scheduled a couple interviews, but they're not for a while. Then I wanted to look for a therapist, but I didn't see any good reviews of some of the ones close by-" He groaned softly, resting his head on Nick's shoulder. "Adulting's kinda f---ing hard."

Nick moved his hand to gently pat Karl’s head. “Sounds like you got a good start, though,” he said softly, smiling a little. “I’m proud of you for that.”

"Thank you, honey~" Karl said with a smile, leaning into Nick's touch. "I also still just, felt really s---ty and homesick, but I'm doing better. I talked to my dad again, which was nice~"

“That’s good,” Nick said with a smile, pressing a kiss on his head. “It’ll go away soon, I promise~”

"Been saying that to myself every day since 6th grade," Karl mumbled out of annoyance, mostly directed at himself. He blushed with embarrassment, chuckling awkwardly. "Sorry, not tryna be a downer- You want to go watch a movie or something~?" He asked, looking over and smiling at Nick.

“Homesickness is a little different, I think, I hope,” Nick said with a small smile, grabbing Karl’s hand and squeezing it. “But yeah, I’d love to go watch a movie~”

Karl smiled tiredly and nodded, taking his bowl and heading to the living room. He sat down on the couch and curled up beside Nick when he sat down, resting his head on his shoulder as he took another bite of his ice cream.

Nick grabbed the remote, turning on a random disney movie. “Y’know, you don’t have to be embarrassed about something you want to talk about.”

“Even if you are, you’re one I want to carry, alright?” Nick said before chuckling a little. “Sorry, that was cheesy-“

Karl laughed, hugging onto Nick. "Don't apologize, hun. Yes, it was a little cringe, but it was sweet~" He giggled and pressed a kiss on Nick's cheek, smiling with content as he turned his attention to the movie.

“Okay, good,” Nick said with a giggle, wrapping his arms around Karl and cuddling close to him.
