imsoclueless Senior"I told you, it's n-not your fault," Karl said with a short, sad chuckle, letting go of Nick's hands for a moment. He brought his hands to the ravenette's face, wiping away tears with his thumbs. "I'd rather s-see you happy and single th-than in a forced relationship w-with anyone, including me. Y-You've been hurt, I know, a-and I want you to get b-better. But being in a relationship with me just- just seems to make it worse, so-" He gave Nick a sad smile, rubbing his cheek for a moment. "Don't cry, pick yourself up, and work on bettering yourself," he said in a firm but kind voice, leaning closer to Nick, "and maybe, in another life, we can be together. If you know what I mean~" He smiled through his tears and pressed a kiss on Nick's forehead before moving his hands, stepping back. "I love you, Nick."

Nick frowned, trying to breathe properly. He stood up again, studying Karl for a second. “I- Are you- You’re just going to go find another one of me, aren’t you?”

imsoclueless Senior"I mean, I don't have to if you don't want me to," Karl replied, crossing his arms over his chest. "It's just- I mean, I- I know it sounds f---ed up, leaving and immediately trying to get together with some other version of you, but- I don't wanna be single anymore..."

Nick frowned, wiping his eyes. “It’s… okay. I’m sorry I couldn’t be the end of all of it.”

imsoclueless Senior"It's not your fault," Karl repeated again, resting his hand on Nick's arm and rubbing his bicep. "I do hope one day, you find the guy for you, Nick~" He smiled at the ravenette and rubbed his eyes, sniffling. "Uhm, I uh, I guess I better head out front."

“You too,” Nick said quietly, smiling sadly. “Are you going right now?”

imsoclueless Senior"Mhm, don't want to leave Elodie out there all by herself to take care of the place," Karl replied with a small chuckle, nodding.

“Okay, yeah,” Nick nodded. “Again, I’m sorry- I shouldn’t have ghosted you like that, it wasn’t right.”

imsoclueless Senior"It's okay," Karl replied with a small smile, nodding as he sniffled. "It's fine, really. You were scared, and- and didn't know how to handle it." He exhaled as he took a step back from Nick, turning and walking over to the door. "I better go check on her now."

“Okay,” Nick said with a small nod. “Bye.”
Eloise saw Karl come out of the dog room, frowning when she saw that he had been crying. “Oh God- what happened?” -
imsoclueless Senior"We broke up," Karl replied, tearing up again as he walked over to Elodie. "B-But it's okay, it- It's better this w-way, I think..."

“What!?” Elodie said, almost jumping out of her seat. “Wait, what caused that?You guys were so happy together?”

imsoclueless Senior"He just- wasn't ready t-to be in another relationship, especially a-after his last one..." Karl replied, tears rolling down his face. "But it's okay, I-I don't blame him, or myself for it. P-Plus we both decided it would be b-best if we ended it..."

“So, after all that,” Elodie paused. “You guys are broken up. What caused this, by the way? Like, what got him to ghost everybody?”

imsoclueless Senior"I guess he just, wasn't ready," Karl mumbled, rubbing his eyes with the sleeves of his hoodie. "I- I can handle the front desk if you need to work on other stuff."
