Mahina noticed. She suddenly felt like a brat for being so defiant.
She stood in front of him and cupped his face in her hands, wiping his tears with her thumb. ‘No, don’t cry.’ Why did she care if he was crying? She was supposed to be hating him!
‘Did she really do that?’ she asked, voice cracking. -
Ernest blushed, looking at her with a surprised expression on his face. "Y-yeah." He said quietly, noticing her voice breaking. "Hey, you're not allowed to cry either."

Mahina sighed. She rested her forehead on Ernest’s. ‘I’m sorry for being a brat. Don’t tell the blondie I said that.’

Ernest rolled his eyes. "God forbid she finds out." He gave a small chuckle. He ruffled her hair gently.

Mahina raised an eyebrow. ‘Was that something we used to do?’

Ernie gave a sad chuckle. "Yeah." He nodded.

‘Hm,’ Mahina mumbled. ‘Do you… Do you think I’ll remember you?’

"I hope you do." Ernest nodded. "I really don't want to rebuild our relationship from scratch." He gave a weak smile. Especially since it's my fault you got hit by this stupid spell.

Mahina looked up at him, a curious expression on her face. ‘How long did it take?’

"Only a couple days, but we were practically inseparable. It may surprise you, but you used to think I was adorably annoying, not just annoying." He gave a small chuckle.

Mahina let a small smile tug at the corner of her lips. ‘Interesting.’

"Hard to believe, I know." Ernie smiled.

Mahina laughed.

Ernest beamed, glad he made her laugh.

Mahina smiled. ‘Ernest, is it?’
