Mahina took a deep breath. She looked up at him. ‘I could feel my memories being taken, Ernest. It… it hurt..’

Ernie's eyes widened. "That's horrible." He whispered, frowning. "I'm so sorry."

Mahina shook her head. ‘It’s not your fault.’

It... It kinda is... "I'm still allowed to be sorry about it."

Mahina shrugged. ‘What’s done is done.’

Ernest shook his head. "I'm still sorry. You can't change that."

Mahina sighed. ‘I just hope getting them back won’t be as bad…’

"They better not." Ernie mumbled, brushing her hair away from her face.

Mahina blushed, clearly taken aback by the gesture.

Ernest noticed her blushing, and gave a small smile. "Sorry." He mumbled.

Mahina took a small step back. ‘I-It’s alright.’

Ernie sat back down on the bed. "Alright." He said quietly.

Mahina sat next to him.

Ernest looked at her. "Anything else you remember? Anything at all?" He asked quietly.

Mahina thought a moment. ‘A little. But all when I was young.’
