"It's not your fault. I understand why you'd be upset." Jayden kissed the top of his head.

Chester held onto his boyfriend tightly, his soothing voice calming him down a bit. ‘I-I don’t actually think you’re going to, y’know…’ He looked up at Jayden. ‘I-I was worried.’

"Hey, I don't blame you if you do think I'm going to. You have every right to be worried." Jayden wiped his tears off gently.

Chester leaned into his touch. He sniffed, shuffling closer to Jayden.

Jayd held him close. "I'm so sorry."

Chester shook his head, curling up in his arms.

Jayden sighed softly. "Do you want to talk about it, or do you just want to get some food?"

‘Can we go get some food, please?’

Jayd nodded, standing up slowly.

Chester stood up as well.

Jayden walked him to the dining room. "Do you want me to sit by you, or do you need space?" He asked quietly. He didn't want to make Chester feel like he had to sit by him.

Chester paused. He was used to choosing the safest option, and though he loved Jayden, and sighed and mumbled, ‘Can I sit alone? Just today?’

Jayd looked down in case his facial expressions showed he was upset. "Yeah, of course." He nodded.

Chester gave a weak smile. He kissed Jayden’s forehead. ‘See you later, okay?’

Jayden nodded. He went to sit by his family.
