Jayd nodded. "Are you?"

Chester paused for a moment before nodding. He grabbed Jayden’s hand, wanting to be close to him.

Jayden scooted closer to him. "I'm really sorry."

‘It’s not your fault, hun,’ Chester said softly, pulling himself closer to him. ‘Why are you sorry?’

"Because Cleverly's right. I've seemed so manipulative." Jayd mumbled.

Chester paused at the first part. ‘Jayden, Cleverly is so wrong,’ he said softly, grabbing both his hands and pecking his lips. ‘He’s never been more wrong in his life, and I’ve known him for a while. You’re not manipulative, honey.’

Jayd sighed. "I lied to try and get you to give me your land. How on earth is that not manipulative?"

‘You told me the truth straight after! And you had a good excuse, too,’ Chester said softly, kissing his forehead. ‘I forgave you a while ago, babe.’

Jayden looked up at Chester. But I haven't. And I'm worried I might do that again. He didn't say anything, leaning into Chester.

Chester held him close, sighing softly. He gently rubbed Jayden’s back. ‘We should get some dinner,’ he said softly, kissing the top of his head. ‘And pray that Caden didn’t hear that yelling, because Astrid did.’

Jayd's eyes widened. "Oh s---." He sighed. "Lets go."

Chester gave a weak smile. He stood up and pulled up Jayden, then walked down to the dining room with his arm wrapped around Jayden.

Jayden stood up and followed. He walked to the dining room, where everyone else already was, including Caden. One glance at him showed he DEFINITELY heard everything.

Chester sighed softly. He gently rubbed Jayden’s back with his thumb and sat down at an empty table. Cleverly, Maeve and Oliver were sitting together.

Jayd leaned into him, sitting down next to him. He glanced at Cleverly for a moment before looking away.
