'MY castle, Cleverly. You do not control the kingdom, I do. I evacuated the soldiers and equipment, before Jayden's men even thought about stepping foot into my kingdom. I know Jayden, YOU do not. Don't act like you know better than me, you wouldn't be in this room right now if not for me!' Chester's voice raised to a shout.

Cleverly grit his teeth. "How am I supposed to be the kings advisor if he refuses to be advised?! Chester. Your boyfriend is clouding your judgement. This is what he wants, for you to let your guard down so him and his directors can strike our kingdom!" He glanced at Jayden. "May you leave? Me and Chester need to talk in private." -

'He's staying, actually. I think you forget, Cleverly, who's the king here. First you disrespect me, then you disrespect my boyfriend who, might I add, is the king of the East Kingdom, where we are standing right now,' Chester snapped, balling his fists. 'What you can say to me you can say to him too.' -

"Fine, Chester, if you're sure that's what you want. Celeste is taking advantage of you, and it's painfully obvious to see. For hells sake, he took nearly 200 acres of your land and you don't even seem bothered because of how stubborn you are! You may not seem concerned with anything other than your precious little boyfriend, but I have to put my foot down at this insanity! Think of the kingdom, Chester! Think of it's future!"
Jayden could hear the sarcasm in the 'precious little boyfriend' line. His fingernails dug into his palm. -

Chester scowled, but something nagged him in the back of his brain. What if Jayden really was just using him, as Beatrice had? He pushed that thought away and focused on his anger for Cleverly. 'I've been taken advantage of before, Cleverly, multiple times. I'd be able to tell if Jayden was like that, which he isn't. I'm not bothered, Cleverly, because you have no f---ing clue how horrendous my boyfriend is treated in this castle. I didn't give him my land because he asked me to, I gave him my land to help him. The MOMENT that chandelier fell I grew insane, and you f---ing know that!' he shouted. -
Jayden glanced at his boyfriend, inhaling sharply at the last bit.
"See what I mean?! You won't even admit you're being used! Helping your boyfriend is letting him vent to you, not giving him land and proving all he has to do is ask and you'll give him whatever the f--- he needs! You're practically yelling 'here, Jayden, take our land, we don't need it anyways! Go ahead and take whatever you want from us!'" He seemed to stunned at the last bit to say anything about it. -
'Cleverly, for the last f---ing time, my boyfriend is NOT using me. You don't know him like I do! His board is f---ing corrupt, and unless you want riots in his kingdom and possibly mine, I will give him as much land as I f---ing want! According to you I can't even love who I want!' Chester yelled, balling his fists. 'I am the King of the North Kingdom, and I will do whatever the f--- I want!'

Jayden watched the two of them, growing uneasy each time their voices grew louder.
"He's not? Because from the way it looks for EVERYONE else, he absolutely is, and it's painfully obvious. And a few riots aren't exactly new for his kingdom, anyways." The offhanded comment made Jayden's blood boil. -
'I don't care how it looks to everyone else! I care about not letting my boyfriend be thrown out of power because my stupid advisor won't let me help him! I care about my sister and the legacy I leave! I care about protecting my boyfriend's and family's wellbeing by not leaving them to deal with a corrupt system!' Chester shouted, scowling. His nails dug into the palms of his hands.

"So you'd throw away your reputation and your own kingdom just for some random fling you'll forget about in a few months?" Cleverly snapped. Jayden grimaced, fiddling with a loose string on his shirt.

'I don't care about my reputation if it means being there for my family, something you clearly have no concept of! Jayden Celeste is no fling, I love him like I've loved nobody else, and I intend to show it.'

"Clearly you do, by giving away your entire f---ing kingdom! Don't say I didn't warn you when he leaves you after taking all your land!" Cleverly snapped before turning for the door.

Chester growled, but let him leave. He sat down on Jayden's bed and buried his face in his hands, rubbing his temples. 'f---...'

"You ok?" Jayden asked quietly once Cleverly left. He was nearly stunned to silence after everything that just happened.

Chester shook his head. He looked up at Jayden, tears in his eyes. 'You.. You're not using me, right?' he said in a quiet, shaky voice. He didn't think Jayden would do such a horrid thing, but Cleverly had left him doubting.
