Chester kissed his nose.

Jayden blushed, smiling.

Chester smiled back.

Jayd kissed his cheek.

Chester blushed, leaning into his touch. There was a knock at the door. Chester huffed but didn’t pull away. ‘Come in!’ he called. The door opened and Cleverly, Chester’s royal advisor walked inside the room.

Jayden looked up at Cleverly. "You traveled all the way here?" He said in surprise.

Cleverly nodded. He looked fairly angry, and held up several newspapers, including the one regarding Astrid. ‘Your majesties, with all due respect, what the f--- is this?!’
Chester blinked. ‘Pieces of paper, Cleverly.’ -
"You know what I mean!" Cleverly snapped.
Jayden hesitantly pulled away from Chester, staying quiet. -
Chester wrapped an arm around Jayden’s waist, pulling him back close. ‘Well, the one about Astrid is true. What others do you have there?’

"Chester, have you lost your mind?! Any sane king would keep this sort of stuff under wraps!" Cleverly snapped, showing one of when they signed the treaty and answered all those awful questions. Jayd frowned.

'Cleverly, I've not been sane for a while now,' Chester said nonchalantly, pulling away from Jayden and standing up. 'The public deserved to know the truth about Astrid. And what was I supposed to tell them, hm? That those phoenix wings were some kind of costume?!'

Cleverly sighed. "Your stubbornness and affection towards him-" Jayden glared at that. "Cost us our land! In case you couldn't tell, Celeste and his kingdom are taking advantage of you! The least you could do is come back to fix it, and this mess with the press along with it!"

'Relax, it was only, what, 200 acres? 120? I forget. We have much land, Cleverly, we can spare a little bit,' Chester said, his tone taking on a sharper edge. 'I love Jayden, and you have no idea what was going on in this castle when that paper was published. I want to come home, I do!'

"You don't understand what's happening in OUR castle! And only 200 acres?! They took our military base! I've had to relocate our soldiers and create a temporary base to make sure that side is protected from his men! And who's to say he won't try to take more land from us?!"
Jayden pulled away from Chester again, looking down at the floor.
