"I'm sure Astrid would LOVE to hear you think he's controllable." Jayden hoped his voice was loud enough that his brother would hear it in the dining room. "Have fun trying to ruin me and Chester. Unlike you, I don't have to try to hard to ruin you. You've made it very easy." -

(THROW HIM OFF A CLIFF INTO A PIT OF PIRANHAS)
Astrid did indeed hear. His jaw dropped. Chester’s eyes widened.
‘I’ll go to war with Chester! I’ll destroy his kingdom and you’ll never be able to set foot in this kingdom again! I’ll do whatever it takes!’ Caden shouted, but he was shocked by Jayden’s determination and almost stunned. -
(WHILE HES ON F I R E )
"Good luck with that, Caden. No matter how much you deny it, I still have power, therefore I still need to approve of you destroying his kingdom. Besides, you already tried to make that a possibility, and it didn't turn out so well. Remember?" Jayd gave a small, defiant smirk. He turned around and opened the door. "a--holes first." He said, motioning for Caden to walk. -
Caden gaped at him, stunned into silence. He then scowled and shoved past Jayden, stomping back to his table, earning a lot of shocked and every angry looks from the people in the room.
Chester stared at Jayden, jaw dropped. ‘Holy s---, you’re f---ing amazing.’ -
Jayden couldn't help but beam once he saw Chester- thought part of his mind was still echoing everything Caden had said. "I try." He shrugged, perking up.

Chester pulled him into a hug, pressing a kiss to the top of his head at least a dozen times. ‘See, this is why I love you, you’re such a badass,’ he said, holding onto him tightly. Caden glared at them. ‘Are you okay?’

Jayd chuckled, hugging him tightly. He noticed Caden glaring and gave him a 'you really want to mess with me right now?' look. "I'm fine. How much did you guys hear?"

Chester laughed nervously. ‘Er, pretty much everything. Do you think Cleverly still thinks you’re using me?’ he said the last part jokingly.

Jayden laughed. "If so, he has too much faith in my acting skills. And what exactly do you mean, everything?" Oh s---, did he hear the... He banished the word from his mind as soon as it popped up.

‘Er, I mean everything. The shouting, the slurs, the threats,’ Chester said, wincing. ‘I really wanted to kill him. I wish I could’ve helped you, but you did handle it pretty well.’

Jayd frowned. He didn't want Chester to hear any of those ever, let alone all within a span of minutes. "God, I'm so sorry. You didn't need to hear that." Jayden sighed. "I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to make sure none of that ever happens."

Chester smiled softly, nuzzling his head into Jayden’s hair. ‘It’s okay, love. You didn’t deserve to be on the end of that. If he lays a finger on you again I’ll help you kill him, okay?’

Jayden's frown disappeared. "I managed. Yes, lets kill him together."
Meanwhile, Astrid was yelling at Caden about being called controllable. Jayden couldn't help but eavesdrop. -
Chester smiled, raking his fingers through Jayden’s hair as he also eavesdropped into Astrid and Caden’s conversation.
‘How dare you! Is that the only reason you want me in power! I swear to god, if Jayden doesn’t, I’ll be the one to ruin you!’
