'Y-you're Frederick Bavlenca?' Mildred stuttered, taking a step backwards. 'Aren't you a criminal here or something?'

"well yes, but if I was ever caught jack would probably just lock me up in the dungeon and monologue to me then I can give some apology and be free. Anyways since I'm a criminal I decided to ask you for help." Frederick said. He was incredibly flippant about it all. Meanwhile jack walked into the palace. "The jumbo rabbits are incredible your highness, I swear they're bigger than my head. It's going to be a great advancement." Varney said

Mildred sighed. She didn't think Jack would like her talking to the man who stole his eye. If speaking Frederick's name made her go without lunch she didn't think the punishment for talking to him would be pleasant at all.
'Why?' Mildred asked, folding her arms. 'Jack hates you. What's the point of helping his brother?' -
"so he can leave this place. It's boring and he'd probably love it if Alexander was back. He'd be so happy he'd forgive you for what you need to return his brother." Frederick said. Frederick looked mischievous no matter what he did or said. Meanwhile jack walked through the halls of the carmilia mansion. "Do you think the bathorys will be here?" Jack asked.

Mildred frowned. She already had a hunch was Frederick wanted from Jack. 'I think you're fibbing,' she stated. 'You couldn't care less about him after what you took.'

"I love jack but I needed the eye. You don't even know what the eye of a royal vampire does." Frederick stated. Meanwhile jack sat on a large chair that most nobles reserved for the most important person at their parties which in this case was jack " I think the whole bathory family is coming and nosfera agreed to bring blood oranges so she has to show." Varney said

'Then why don't you tell me?' Mildred said, cocking her head at Frederick. 'And I might help you.' She knew she most likely wasn't going to, because she still didn't believe Frederick.

"well, royal vampire eyes can bring someone back from the dead. I tried his eye on Alexander and his eyes fluttered open. He yelled out jack before he went back to sleep but I could hear him sleeping lighter that time. If Alexander gets both of Jack's eyes he'll wake up and jack will finally get to be with his brother again and I'll get to be with jack." Frederick said. Meanwhile jack watched nosfera walk in with a crate of blood oranges. Blood oranges were like the charcuterie boards at vampire parties. Not very filling but vampires enjoyed the taste

A horrible tempting emerged inside Mildred. She could take Jack's eye and betray Fredrick and bring back her brother, Albert. Or her mother, or her father. She didn't want to admit that she considered it for a few seconds, but came to her senses and decided against it. 'How do I know you're not lying?' Mildred asked.

"why would I need another eye if not for Alexander? Plus my whole family is alive, you know the bavlenca line. I have a book on vampire eyes and finally jack is my lover, why would I ever betray him for no reason?" Frederick said. He spoke in a very soft tone. Meanwhile nosfera ran up to jack. "Milord I didn't know you'd be here! What an honor!" Nosfera shouted frantically

'That's... that's actually a good point...' Mildred said quietly. It did make sense, but she wasn't sure if she could trust Frederick. Or maybe she was being too paranoid. 'Well, what's in it for me?'

"there's the royal brownie points, the ability to leave, jack not being a nervous wreck anymore and of course you can become what we call a daybreaker. A vampire that can photosynthesis instead of drinking blood which means you could go out in the day and avoid blood and have all the perks of vampirism." Frederick said. Meanwhile jack took a blood orange from the crate. "It's nice to see you two nosfera. I trust your horse won't be at odds with smokey?" Jack questioned
