Mildred flinched at the sudden sound, the shrill, uncanny laugh. She couldn't place where it was coming from, and so ran around the library, trying to find the source of the sound.
-
No matter how hard Mildred looked all she could've found was a sticky note on a shelf. It read "do you want to help?" On the note was a drawing similar to the ones in the book. Meanwhile jack was talking to smokey as he got ready to leave. "Who talks to a vampire about the sun? Much less a palace full of them. You probably miss the sun." Jack said to smokey. He shed a tear for his loyal horse before opening the stable doors and hopping onto Smokey's back
-
Mildred looked about, running her hands along the wall. It was darker than she would've liked, only a few candles were lit, and she struggled to find her way about. Soon she got to the shelf with the sticky note and frowned. 'Do you want to help?' she mumbled, reading out loud. She looked at the drawing. 'I wonder what that's supposed to mean. Help who?'
-
Another sticky note fell to the ground. "The king." It read. This sticky note had drawings similar to the ones in the book. Meanwhile jack rode out having the one stable boy shut the door after he was gone. Jack rode to the cave first. Upon going in he was met with new additions to his fungal garden
-
Mildred flinched at the movement and looked down at the note. She looked up at where it came from but found nothing, and so bent over and picked up the note. 'The human King?' Mildred asked the darkness. 'Or the vampire one?'
-
Another sticky note fell. "Alexander." It read. It had an eye drawn on it. Meanwhile jack walked through the cave. The lion's mane spores he got were finally growing and a variant of the bleeding tooth fungus had started growing.
-
Mildred clenched her jaw. She weighed her options. 'Only if you show yourself,' she said, holding all three sticky notes between her middle and index finger. 'It'll do no good speaking to sticky notes.'
-
Another sticky note fell. If Mildred bothered to read it the note read "I don't think you'd trust me if you saw me." Meanwhile jack harvested the new mushrooms noting any mold he'd have to get rid of. The cave wasn't exactly big enough for mass production so he never bothered to tell other vampires where it was
-
By now Mildred was starting to get irritated with the notes. She caught this one middair and read it. 'I'm not going to trust you if I don't see you, either,' she said, setting the note on her growing pile.
-
A giggle came from the ceiling. "Are you sure about that?" Arrogance radiated from the voice. It was almost familiar. Jack exited the cave and gave smokey a morel mushroom which smokey sometimes stopped to eat on rides through the forest.
-
Mildred looked up and searched the ceiling for the source of the voice. Her legs suddenly started trembling, but she clenched her jaw a d balled her fists determinedly. 'Show yourself,' she said firmly, still looking around.
-
Something fell to the floor in the library. The first thing Mildred could see was an orange ponytail. "Hello fellow human." This boy said. He stood up. His face was very familiar. It was in a certain portrait in the castle that happened to be in Mildred's current room.
[omg]
Meanwhile jack was riding off to the carmilia Manor. The carmilias lived in a Gothic manor like many of the vampiric nobles. They preferred it that way after all. Jack dismounted smokey and led her to the front door. Then he knocked. -
Rip, autocorrect))

-
Mildred watched the boy, narrowing her eyes at him. She felt she'd seen him before, but couldn't place where. 'You're... You're the man in the portrait in my room,' she said, eyes widening slightly. 'Who are you?'
