Jack stood on his coffin as the rat ran around his room. Commotion roared through the halls as every servant in the castle swarmed to see what was wrong

Mildred heard footsteps and shouts outside her door and groaned, pulling the pillow over her head. She eventually got up, not making much effort to fix her hair, and tried to find the source of the commotion.

Everyone had gathered around Jack's room. The commotion going on inside would've been hilarious if jack wasn't so scared of the rat. There were three different vampires trying to catch the small creature

Mildred stood outside the crowd. ‘What the heck is going on?’ she said, rubbing her eyes to get the crusty sleep out.

A maid turned around. "There's a rat. We're trying to catch it" she said. There was a loud crashing sound as a vampire hit the wall

‘A rat? All this commotion was caused by a rat?’ Mildred asked. She figured rats were uncommon for vampires. ‘Try luring it out or something. I’m going back to bed.’

A shrieking emerged from the room as the rat got close to the crowd which reared back.

Mildred stepped back with the crowd, grumbling about it being too early for this. She was tempted to push through the crowd and just kick the rat.

Suddenly the rat burst through the crowd with a chorus of screams and started running down the hall

This deeply amused Mildred. She’d obviously seen her fair share of rats. She followed the rat and blocked its way with her foot.

A gaggle of vampires hurried over to the rat and timidly tried to pick it up

Mildred chuckled and picked it up herself, holding it out to them. ‘It’s just a rat, it probably doesn’t have any diseases on it.’

"it's so... Icky. And it bites." A tall vampire at the front says as he grabs the rat hesitantly.

But vampires bite too- Mildred quickly shook that thought away. ‘Well, yeah, it’s a rat.’

"exactly. What a vile creature. I wish we could drink these instead of rabbits." The vampire said as he walked away with the rat. The crowd slowly dispersed
