Mildred nodded, taking another bite from her pasta.

Jack finished his fish then proceeded to pick at his teeth with a rib bone from the fish. His fangs had small bits of salmon caught between them

Mildred eventually finished her pasta as well.

Jack rang the bell once more and Wilhelm brought out a delightful surprise. It was a bread pudding with cinnamon milk on the side. It smelled lovely

Mildred glanced over at Wilhelm.

"oh, a bread day." Jack said thoughtfully as Wilhelm served the bread pudding

‘A bread day?’ Mildred asked.

"A day where I serve a lot of bread. It's light on the stomach. It's a palette cleanser." Wilhelm said

‘Oh. Fair enough.’

Jack smiled. "You're in for a treat." Jack said

‘Bread is good, I guess.’

"this is special. It's bread pudding. It's like, if you mixed bread and ice cream but made it warm." Jack said, trying hard to explain bread pudding

Mildred blinked. ‘Wouldn’t the ice cream melt if it was warm, though? Or am I completely misunderstanding?’

"misunderstanding. It's sort of like ice cream texture but heavier. It's also sometimes served with ice cream." Jack said
