"I don't know. Perhaps it is similar to swimming in shallow water knowing you won't drown." Jack said

‘Perhaps. Would vampires drown?’ Mildred asked. ‘Since their heartbeat is weird?’

"we are not allowed to go in running water, it's mostly holy water." Jack said

‘Oh, right. So you’d die on the spot?’

"no, we'd dissolve. It's not quick." Jack said

'Oh. What a fun thing to imagine,' Mildred said.

"certainly a cool party trick if we didn't die." Jack said

‘More disturbing than cool, but sure.’

"well, I think watching someone dissolve then appear right back beside you would be a neat party trick

‘Like something you’d see in a slightly disturbing magic show.’

"all the best magic shows are at least moderately disturbing." Jack said.

‘Fair enough. I’ve only ever read about them, obviously, so I suppose I wouldn’t know.’
