‘Hopefully,’ Mildred said, biting into her roll.

"I'm sure with time Frederick will get bored if we don't find him. What's even interesting about living in my damned rafters." Jack said

'He probably likes eavesdropping,' Mildred said. 'I used to eavesdrop of passer-bys. The conversations you can hear are wild.'

"oh? What was the craziest thing you've overheard?" Jack asked curiously. He took a roll and added some lovely peach jam to the delightful bread. He had to admit these breads tasted better with milk rather than blood.

'I once heard an old couple arguing in the streets. Apparently the husband cheated on his wife with her sister because the wife poisoned his foot cream, which gave him blisters,' Mildred said. 'It was amusing to watch, but an unfortunate situation.'

"that is the strangest course of action I have ever heard, but also who poisons someone's foot cream? That's very bizarre." Jack said

'I think they just hated each other and didn't want to be the one to die first,' Mildred said, shrugging.

"dying first. I suppose it's scary when you're mortal. Afraid of leaving everyone behind." Jack said

'Yeah. Probably getting rich off of each other's savings as well.'

"they must've been quite wealthy to grow old." Jack said, very matter-of-factly.

Mildred chuckled as his tone. 'Fair enough.'

"they probably had more problems then I'd know what to do with." Jack said

‘Poisoned foot cream is probably a big problem,’ Mildred nodded.

"I'd hate for someone to poison any of my things. It's inconvenient." Jack said
