Jonah nodded. "It'd be fun as long as the clouds were cool-looking."

"yeah, I'll make a picnic too. Do you like turkey, ham, chicken, pork, or beef? Or are you vegetarian, or vegan? These things are very important to know." Valako said

"No, but I do have a slight allergy to almonds." Jonah said with a grin.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind. No almond butter cookies for you. I'll probably make an angel food cake though." Valako said thinking over the recipe. They were halfway across town at this point and the water tower loomed in the distance

"Ooo, sounds tasty." Jonah said, now feeling hungry.

"it certainly will be, it's also a fairly light dessert. I honestly really like making angel food cake but it takes forever to separate egg whites." Valako said. She spent hours separating the egg yolks from egg whites.

"Cool!" Jonah said with a grin.

"y'know, maybe I should show you how to bake sometime, nothing difficult of course but I think it would be great if I could convince you to knead the dough for bread." Valako said before mumbling "it really is tiring to knead the dough."

Jonah grinned. "I'd love to!" He said, glad he could learn know how to bake with her.

"it's really fun." Valako said

"I bet. It'll be even better if I do it with you."

"baking is always better with friends. I actually originally learned baking to make friends. It never worked but it's a useful skill." Valako said

"Baking with friends sounds awesome." Jonah said happily. He never had cooked or baked anything with anyone other than his dad.

"I'm sure it will be fun." Valako said. The water tower loomed overhead as they got even closer. Through the rust you could almost make out the name of the town.

“Woah, it’s so big.” Jonah murmured as they both got close to it. “And even rustier than it looks from far away.”
