Jonah shrugged, staring at his shoelaces.

"it doesn't matter anymore." Valako said

"Yes it does." Jonah mumbled, looking at Valako sympathetically.

"it doesn't because nothing changes." Valako said

Jonah was quiet for a moment. "I'm sorry." He whispered.

"it's fine, there's nothing to do about it anyways." Valako said

Jonah shrugged, still wanting to help somehow.

Valako stepped out onto the town side of the treeline and walked the edge towards the water tower

Jonah followed, smiling in the sun.

"y'know, I always wondered why the Water tower got so rusty considering it's a thing in every town." Valako said

"Maybe because there's a lot of water in it?" Jonah asked, never actually wondering that.

"i think they'd want to use that water." Valako said

Jonah shrugged. "They still got to refill it all though, right?"

"Yeah, which is why it's odd that it's so rusty." Valako said

Jonah nodded. "Fair enough." He said, smiling.
